Exactly. It's nice when shows get a huge budget to work (hello Fate/Night UBW), but the truth is that quiet often budget constraints push companies towards more cost effective art styles for the most part.

The example I was thinking of with the SHAFT statement was Nisekoi. That's another harem comedy with a quirky visual style and SHAFT basically nailed the look exactly. But that anime must have cost a boatload of money to make what with all the absurd animation and top-tier voice acting talent.

Shiho and Akari actually look... normal in this, but I'm not enjoying Akane's redesign. :/ We're forgetting that Akane's the EVIL principal here. :P Also she's looked cute exactly one time, and everyone agreed that she wasn't acting like herself (chapter 75) ahaha.

Can we hope for more than 12 episodes for this ? (since they didn't introduce Rin & Karen)

At a practical level, getting the reaction faces and Akane correct are what will make or break the series. If the faces don't work, a lot of the humor is lost. If Akane comes off wrong, she goes from a wonderful & hilarious chaos agent to something really irritating. That would kill the series if it comes off wrong.

So, here's hoping it comes out brilliant. Also, I really hope we get the sweet-making competition.
