I don't know for sure, really.

You might as well call it assault armor or whatever, the principle of barrier void is using barrier against barrier, so anything that use Absolute Defense for offensive purposes can be categorized as one.

Since I.S. boosted body function and refine it, I suppose even drunk pilot wouldn't act and look drunk... until the I.S. deactivated and then hilarity ensues.

The one off ability I'm talking about would be Katami Sae's one off ability in her first gen IS which I'm temporarily naming Hayabushi.

The OOA is called Ikenie. Unlike Reiraku Byakuya which continuously drains Byakushiki while it is active, Ikenie completely removes the shield from the Hayabushi. The loss of shield means the only defensive capacity of the IS then is dodging, weapon blocking and absolute defense.

On the display, the shield reading is exchanged with a weapon reading instead. All this energy is used to either power current weapons or expend energy to form another weapon. How the weapon energy is spent out is purely dependent on the pilot and the function the energy is being spent on.

A more extreme application of Ikenie allows even the sacrifice of the absolute defense to use as energy to power a near invincible attack. But the drawback is that the IS treats itself as having used its absolute defense and will promptly be drained of its power, forcing it to assume closed state again.
