Well to be fair Laxus is still looking like the guy to favour in that matchup. I mean Natsu has gotten some shots in, but his most effective move was talking to him. Though Natsu is a lot closer to the top of Fairy Tail than Laxus would admit.

I did not say that he is weak, but definetly not as strong as he makes himself look, he is a coward.

Having not read the manga, I must confess to a small bit of disappointment at how brief Mystogan's appearance was. I mean - 45 eps to hear about how Godly he is and then a three-minute fight? Not that he didn't seriously kick ass - but it's not much reward after so much build-up.

Here's one viewer hoping for serious Mystogan screen time in S2.

yeah Mystogan's fight was pretty short
wonder why they omitted the mention of that guy during the conversation between Laxus and Mystogan... if Ivan was introduced I don't know why not mentioning him...

about Second Year, i like the seiyuus for the new characters but i wonder if it will be only Nirvana arc or add filler after that.. i don't think they'll animate Edoras arc

I would like an explanation on why Mystogan looks like Jellal. That revelation just blew all continuing fights out the window.

They needed to give the "main character" something to do to shine near the end, because in the manga Lucy doesn't do much after beating Bickslow, hence have her give a motivational summary-esque speech.

Suprise suprise. Laxus IS A DRAGON SLAYER! Man this series has gotten intense. Natsu and Gajeel need to turn it up a notch and transform into their dragon slayer forms.

Wait did I just say transform? Man this sounds just like DBZ ROFL. But who cares!

Lucy's speech was the best part of the episode.

The anime has almost no filler, it needed some for be a good adaptation instead of a copy/paste of the manga and that was a great filler.

I wonder why the OP/ED haven't changed, in 2 episodes begin the next arc, it should be changing already.

Probably due to recently getting the series extended. If they thought it'd be over soon there would be no point in getting a new OP/ED with a few episodes to go. Besides like that the OP actually relates to the arc it's being shown in for once.

The opening hasn't changed because they've been changing approximately every twelve episodes. So the new one would not be due until episode 48 or 49. Probably 49.

Unlikely unless you've got a better source than a random forum post. The next opening and ending singles are due out this year, and all advertising indicates that it'll be continuing this year. It looks like there might be a one or two week break, but that's it.

Shiroth Beautiful fighter. Join Date: Dec 2005 Location: England, UK Age: 37	Spoiler for Episode 47: That was such an episode of Dragon ball . A lot more so then the manga. There was a lot of seriously epic moments during the few chapters that were animated to make up this episode, and they were completely lost. A shame, though the animation was pretty good during the double attack of Natsu and Gajeel, so that kinda makes up for it. 'Transformed' Laxus looks horrible though. The proportion of his body looks totally off. Yet another shame. At least there was some fantastic music placement yet again, plus the preview for next weeks episode shows the level of animation we got during Natsu and Jellal, so it should deliver. __________________ MyAnimeList Twitter

Feel for the guys when revealed that they did almost no damage to him . Maybe someone should tell Mystogan that Erza left so he can get back in there... Almost forgot how tough it'd be to get a group working together after they just spent the last while trying to beat each other up. Good job by Lucy to pull everything together and remind them that there were more important things to deal with. Like not getting obliterated by the Thunder Palace . Nice way to end the episode though with Laxus firing Fairy Law. He really is one powerful guy. Just too bad he's cracked in the head. __________________ Anime-Evo

Clarste Human Join Date: Aug 2004 Age: 37	Spoiler for 47: Gah, Lucy's speech ruined everything. I tend to support changes from the manga in this series so far, but why the hell does Fairy Tail need Lucy to tell them how to be themselves? In the manga they just do it, no questions asked and complaining to each other all the while. Because, well, there are no hard feelings in Fairy Tail. It really was an awesome moment of them all coming together as a guild because they've always been a guild and they're not gonna let petty things like being forced to fight each other stop that. They even in the next breath talk about Laxus' attack being part of his rebellious phase, with the implication that they'll forgive him after this is all over. Fairy Tail sticks together as a family, you can give em that. Except they don't in the anime. At least until their newbie gives a heartfelt speech. I'm sorry, but that ruined everything. I guess they wanted to give Lucy her moment in the climax of this arc, but they did so by ruining the characterization of every single other member of the guild. Seriously, this bugs me a lot. ...I guess the fight was okay, but they sort of spoiled the cliffhanger in the preview, as always. Should've taken the ad at the end as an opportunity to skip the preview entirely.
