I had forgotten about the whole saving Shigaraki thing... because it's so damn bad. I know that's going to happen though.

It seems like ShigarAFO managed to completely escape the blast from the missiles and the wounds are from the lasers, so I suppose it's not that bad.

Even if Deku "saves" Shigaraki, I don't see that automatically putting the villain on the road to redemption town. Not with the body count he has, at least. Unless he's somehow capable of pulling a Pain and revives all those he killed (which would be a cheap move that is well below the author's writing ability, IMO), I think Tenko's dove too far down the abyss for him to return to the light at this point. At best, I can see him sacrificing himself to save Deku's (or any other UA student's) life at a critical moment, but that's about it. Besides, if we consider the possibility of Shigaraki changing his ways, that would lead to a dangerous slippery slope where we'd have to take the rest of the league into consideration, as well. I mean, what about Toga or Dabi? Or Twice (who Hawks DID attempt the "talk no jutsu" on before being forced to kill him, anyway)? Sometimes, a drowning person simply can't be saved, as they'd rather drag their would-be rescuers into the deep with them...

To keep your Naruto analogy, he'll basically pull an Obito. I can already see it, Deku talking to him inside his mindscape and telling him "you wanted to be a hero, didn't you?", and then later "as someone who pursued the same dream as me, Tenko was the coolest guy!"

Count me among the people who nope Shigaraki isn't going to survive in the ending, it would be too much after everything he did. But him being redeemed, providing crucial help in defeating All for One and being remembered forever as a hero? Yeah, I can totally see that happening.

All for Shiga steals New Order and Star starts decaying, AFO comments that he had originally plan to take OFA before going after New Order, but this outcome works just as well. All for Shiga gloats that Star fails and activates New Order, but all he manages to say is "in 10 seconds the atmosphere will..." before he gets pulled into the vestige world where we see a monstrous Star ripping silhouettes out of All for Shiga. Star's vestige explains that she allowed her Quirk to be taken because right before she created a new rule "New Order would destroy other Quirks" and this was the best way to defeat All for Shiga. OFA's vestige freaks out because he doesn't know how to stop Star's rampage, while back in the real world the figher jets shoot their lasers at All for Shiga again, who discover that the Reflect Quirk is already gone.

Everyone was saying how Star and Stripe is just here to make AFO/Shiggy even more OP. Turns out it's the opposite effect due to Star's last order.

RIP Star. I personally think that Hori should have introduced her much earlier in the story. As much as I like her, she's just a walking plot device introduced to nerf AFO/Shiggy.

Speaking of AFO, it sure is satisfying to see him losing his cool when he realizes that New Order is causing him to lose his other stolen Quirks.

Well, Star's demise wasn't unexpected, but it's still painful, nonetheless. Still, that was actually a pretty smart plan she pulled there. It's not quite the same thing I suggested in my previous post, but this works out better, IMO. She may have sacrificed herself, but now she continues battling ShigAFO from the inside.... thus ultimately nerfing him. And yes, I also found it pretty cool that AFO ended up in a panic after realizing what happened to him. Unfortunately, I'm sure he'll eventually find a way to undo Star's "curse", but at least this setback will be sure to delay ShigAFO's final awakening for a bit longer, allowing some extra time for Deku and the rest of the younger hero generation to get even stronger....

Oh, BTW, it looks like we get Star's full name this chapter! Seems her real name is Kathleen Bate, if I'm not mistaken. So... literally a superhero version of Kathy Bates?

Huh, I never viewed Hori as sexist. If anything, I always appreciated that he introduced so many strong female characters, be they hero or villain. Though with that being said, I really hope Lady Nagant doesn't share a similar fate as Star, because I rather like her, too...

Anyways, as far as ShigAFO dispelling Star's quirk goes, aside from the solution you brought up, the only other logical action I can see the master villain taking is to use Eri and/or Overhaul's powers. Obviously, obtaining either of them won't be easy.... is what I'd like to say. But as far as Eri goes, remember that UA still has a rat who hasn't been sniffed out yet.... this could be their chance to strike again.

I am sort of torn on this. While it's good that Star didn't just become a glorified power-up for AFO, it doesn't really change that in the end, she was just a plot device to affect his power level. It just so happens that she was added to nerf him rather than empower him.

Can't AFO just hand over New Order to one of the pilots? But if they have pinned him with lasers I guess he's in no position to do that. He didn't think fast enough.

I'm also worried this won't actually weaken him permanently. The original AFO has the same Quirks, doesn't he? He can give them to Shigaraki. Well, I guess either way it ends up weakening one AFO.

To give someone "Quirk" or to take from someone "Quirk", "All For One" ("Shigaraki") need to touch them something he can't do in his current position.

P.S. Why people are complaining about the attitude that the female characters in My Hero Academia receive? When I compare female characters from My Hero Academia to other Manga Series (for example) "One Piece" I can't say the female characters in "My Hero Academia" are really can be so worst.

Might need to wait for the official translation to make sure, but AFO said Quirks can't be destroyed. New Order is just making them unstable. If that's the case, he won't even come out of this weakened once he's gotten rid of New Order.
