There is no original material whatsoever for this anime, besides the screenplay? Everything was made up all by the scriptwriters? I tried searching for a manga for this series, but nothing so far has come up.

If there nothing it's based off of, I gotta say, that's very impressive for Shaft I'm glad they're stepping outside of their circle of comfort.

Madoka Magica is an original project. Of course it has no material to base off, and that's why it is getting more hype than anything else.

Can't really expect better than this!

There are only two possibility for this show. It will be totally epic win or totally chaos. I hope the music will be at least as superb or better than Le Portrait De Petit Cossette. This is my most anticipated Shaft show next to Kizu. Well, normally I don't really expect anything from them.

Apparently there is a special scoop regarding Madoka Magica in this month's Manga Time Kirara Forward (that Yume Kui Merry serialized on) and there will be an "important announcement" in the next issue. Safe assumption would be a manga adaption, but that means serialization will start in January alongside with the anime.

The third girl seems to have a percussion lock rifle as a weapon. Those are circa 1830s, but I don't think they would have made it to Japan until the mid-late 1800s.

Since Yuuki Aoi is the lead girl, I am kind of hoping they have her sing for the OP or ED, since she sung so very well for TWGOK's Character Song CD.

Most likely, I imagine that the music will be recorded by Lantis since it was licensed by Aniplex and composed by Yuki Kajiura.

I think you mean Victor Ent. None of Kajiura's stuff has been released under Lantis that I know of.

The only new information is from Mami's line:

"I am Tomoe Mami, third year from the same Takihara Third Junior High as you two…"
"…and also a magical girl under contract with Kyube."

Takihara is located in Odai, a small town in Mie, I think.

Knowing SHAFT, it's all too likely they might just stand around talking about important things while the camera jumps around like it's got an ADHD child at the helm, so I guess they motionless, standing designs are important.

Joking aside, this looks like a great project to expect. The staff is an awesome line-up, the fact that it's an original project from SHAFT both surprises me and entices me, and I guess I have been craving some magical girl action lately. Let's hope they all deliver.
