Piece of cake. In the game there are different routes, we can say this clearly, each route depends on some choices. Now, if we will prefer Tomoyo's route to Nagisa's route, for example, we will not see some characters in the game or they will play the second role. Main story in Clannad TV - is from the point of view from Nagisa's route with some parts from other routes (and even full one like Kotomi's route, Fuuko's route and so on). But the main perspective of the story is Nagisa's. So, this means, that perspective from the another view will be an alternative one comparing to the another routes. And this means, that some main characters in Clannad TV now will be second-plan characters except Tomoyo & Tomoya. So, you'we got it.

Did they cut out the Tomo/Kanako content in it?

In manga ? Huuuu, yes. Only some main details have been taken from the game, but they are different, very different. Want to know an example ?

For example, let's take the story of Tomo. In game the ending of this story is a) in the village b) at their summer vacation c) the main feature, that Tomoya restored a school for her (no, i will not write here the whole story) d) Tomo and her mother stayed live together in this village. And now check the manga, and this is only an example of the main details from the ending, not the whole story.

Okay. I kind of understand now. Well... Sort of, since I can't find a good place to get one of these games in English to understand these kind of games, especially for the PSP versions of it. Well, thank you for making it clearer.

It's impossible for all Key works. Now you can find only complete fan translations for Planetarian and Clannad (isn't really complete, in editing phase now). As for Kanon (in editing phase too, but still has not been compiled yet to check, yes, there was a leakage, but it's impossible to find this leaked version now), Air - some fan translators are working with them now. Tomoyo After has been anounced recently. No real info about Little Busters, except blank page, but it will be probably translated too. Of course, i'm talking here only about fan translations.

So I just finished reading the manga. Wow, you can finish this in half an hour, lol. The game lasted me like 20+ hours...

Let's count the differences:

Spoiler for Manga-Game differences:

- Tomoyo didn't start living with Tomoya until Tomo arrived
- Tomo started living in the house before Kanako arrived
- Tomoya didn't defeat just 4 guys... he defeated the whole gang, one every night.
- Tomoyo didn't know about the fights (she had some idea but she trusted Tomoya)
- They didn't mention anything about the Tomo kidnapping attempts
- Skipped the comedies within the house! Multiple Takafumis, etc...
- Takafumi barely showed up at all!
- The whole backstory about the Takafumi/Kanako relationship was different - too many to list
- No marathon
- Tomo's mother never wanted her back
- No trip to the countryside, no school rebuilding, no reviving the village (Kanako shined a lot in this arc...)
- And of course, no accident while rebuilding the school
- Tomoyo never supported Tomo going back to her mother until the very very end. It was all Kanako/Tomoya
- Tomoya didn't know about the surgery, and he actually was able to remember his relationship with Tomoyo one time after the 10-day period.
- They got married in the game

It reminded me of a typical movie adaptation. It got the main points right but was compressed to hell... I guess it wasn't too bad.

Hmm wow they got married... they never mentioned that in the manga... When did this happen? during the 3 years of him losing memories or after the surgery during the last minutes of his life?

Ah, thats much better then the way the manga did it. but nontheless, he is still cut short at the end, which sucks.... Key really loves their bittersweet endings dont they?

As you may have already known, Clannad and Tomoyo After ~It's a Wonderful Life~ are two different games entirely. After Story is the second half of the original Clannad game, while Tomoyo After is a spin-off game which takes after Tomoyo's route in Clannad.

That said, if you still want to know more about After Story, then I suggest you look into the Spoilers and Speculation (for experienced Clannad gamers only) thread.

i wasnt able to watch the whole show as the female lead (the one with the 2 antena was annoying the hell out of me until i had night terror and drop the show at eps13) but i got a question reguarding the DVD bonus eps.

That's from Dungeons and Takafumis. Beat the minigame and you'll see its epilogue (that's where the picture is from)
