Yeah, the overall episode was good. I always enjoyed the humor or the sol side in show like, it makes gives the pilot more human side and Fafner does really good on that front.

There was bound to be some kind trad off for their power. In this case I doubt even the former pilots can help them mentally or emotionally, since it is so new and different.

Festum are back and strong, and now the ThirdGen pilots are struggling to win. While their conditions become worse. No more easy fights for them for sure......
Sakura and Canon return as pilots are kinda expected though.

Also, Akira is gonna have nightmares......

Im okay with Canon and Sakura returning to help the younger pilots but that narration Soushi does at the end is always extremely grim.

Did they ever explained how they categoized Festum? All the Azazel-types look pretty different from each other, with different powers. This one has wide range Assimilation abilities and lightning attacks like Mark Nicht.

This show is excellent; there's always a sense of dread and fear around the corner, especially with Soushi's ending narration. The pilots gain more power, but it's a curse and even with the Sein and Nicht, they're still having difficulties. It's pretty grim.

Canon and Sakura returns. Not really something to celebrate as how the situation goes.

I take the effect of their power is they're gradually become Festum?
I feel sorry for Seri when her food assimilate. Reo's hole worsened is also not something easy to take.

As far as I watched, they didn't explained it. Azazel-type is different each other but IMO they practically share similar aspect.
Basically huge size and command large (more advanced) Festums instead of smaller ones; later classified by how they're advancing (e.g. Runner, Walker).

Sheeesh this show just nails the constant uneasiness that the pilots themselves must be going through, its really well paced and you've gotta feel for them and I really like how almost all of them are different and equally terrifying in one way or another.

Sakura and Canon coming back as pilots has been foreshadowed for a long time but I do like how the opening at least didn't reveal this (specifically with Canon, it showed Kazuki/Soushi in pilot suits but kept her out of it) as much as I love this seasons opening it did kidna ruin how Soushi and Kazuki would be returning and in what mechs (more so Soushi then Kazuki).

This is truly the best show I've seen from this last season and it makes me so sad so few people are paying attention to it.

Its not that the fights are hard its that they are scared of their own power. Rightfully so. If my power did the stuff to me that theirs are I no longer am fighting. It takes a lot for me to turn down super powers but yea fuck that shit. How is a power that prevents me from eating protecting me ! Me and powers would need a long talk as to why that is a retarded idea.

New festum is game over. They hard trouble taking out the last Azeal type how are they going even fight a stronger Azeal type when the 2 strongest units failed.

I've never herd it was being split, thought it was just a full 24-26 episode series like the first.

As far as I can see, the schedule has episode 13 next week and that is it. Hopefully the end of the episode will give us more insight when the next cour will be, although with the lack of information, I kind have dread over the possibility that it might just end with one cour.
