It has been how long since Book 9 came out? And they aren't going to have Book 10 come out until 2009? When based on his previous release schedule, Tanigawa could probably have at least Book 11 out by then?

The only way that could make the slightest bit of sense at this point would be if there isn't going to be a Book 11.

So that can't be it anymore, right? Right?

Tanigawa apparently has/had writer's block, but there HAS to be a book 11 and possibly many more, given the pacing of the plot.

And it can be it indeed. Kadokawa has shown that they have no business sense whatsoever.

Book 10 will not come out this year, as there have been no announcements of any kind.

Though I do wonder who will get to do "Rewrite" once it is finished: KyoAni, or Studio Deen. Personally I'd like that final line crossed to make Haruhi-Higurashi crossovers in art style complete.

Higurashi has a crap art style though. Especially in the first season.

Besides, Rewrite is still Hinoue's art... the only thing 07th Expansion is doing is the story...

And I'm probably the only person who WANTS to see LB first...

I wouldn't be surprised if his work is currently delayed because he is somehow distracted by constant phone calls from KyoAni concerning details of the Disappearance arc.

Or rapid fire fandom has changed the scope of the story a few times in his head and thus required a rewrite more than once. Recent events have shown populatity in strange concepts based on Haruhi.

Deductive reasoning has told. The Clannad AS DVDs will start coming out this Winter. KyoAni is making Clannad AS. Thus, unless KyoAni is going to be taking on two series at the same time, which one would imagine would completely negate the effect of taking off so much time, the next Haruhi series will be coming out in Spring 09 at the earliest, without the benefit of three skipped seasons.

Do you think they would run multiple episodes of "Endless Eight" with variations until they resolve the problem? Running some of the stuff that happens in one episode, other stuff in another, repeat part of what they did with a modification in a third, different stuff and Kyon getting a clue in a fourth (plus bored Yuki), and resolution in a fifith? The might have enough material (or reference to enough variations of that material) to run the loop a few times without too much repeat for the audience. Either just enough so one will notice, or none until it is pointed out to us. Done well if could be interesting. Done poorly it would be dull and painful.

No, they should stick to the source material exactly so they can't screw it up.
