I sincerely apologize if someone has already addressed this, but when I try to upload a new avatar (animated gif, under 100x100 and under 50 kb, I've checked), it just spits out this message.

I constantly have problem when uploading avatar to this forum. None of the image hosting websites worked and I had tried quite a few. I still don't know why. If anyone can give me some image hosting websites that work for uploading avatar to this forum, I will really appreciate.

Alright.

Uploading from computer does not work.
Linking to online picture tells me the picture could not be found at the URL specified.
Absolutely nothing works to get a custom avatar on there.

What the hell is going on?

I'm aware that many have had this problem. Fortunately there is a very simple solution. Download the avatar to your computer and then upload it from your PC.

Problem solved.

Except that uploading from the PC does not work and gives the above described error message.

My mistake. I misunderstood your problem. A little test reveals that I am also unable to upload a new avatar. Hopefully Mb81 will be online soon so that he can shed some light on this error.

I'd say that administration got caught with their pants down again,.. but then again, due to the censors, the bright light emitted would usually tend to drive the gremlins away. ... That is unless those gremlins got hosed down in the process...

Well. Still not working for me.

I hope my efforts in creating a Kikuchi Rukia animated avatar weren't wasted on a forum that gives me error messages no matter how I try to upload it or link it.

I don't remember getting banned for content, either ...

no, i got it done by upload it from my computer. But I just really want to know why I can't upload from some image hosting websites.
This is the error message I got:
Error - cannot find an image at the specified URL. Please make sure that you have entered a valid URL.

If you are trying to upload a .gif that could be the problem there. It doesn't recognize gifs as an image. The only way is by uploading form comp, as for why ... I don't think anyone knows(probably the forum software).

The thing I don't understand is : why would you upload your avatar somewhere else then upload it from this link?
Unless you just want to steal an avatar from someone else or a MoeBoard style avatar

I Upload my Avatars because i need to for other forums. but i can usually find the image faster on my computer.

Linking to online picture tells me the picture could not be found at the URL specified. Absolutely nothing works to get a custom avatar on there. What the hell is going on?
