This is probably hard to explain but I just finished watching Rozen Maiden (which was pretty good) and liked the old European dress style they had for the doll characters. (manty real dolls have this same style too).

I thought it was just limited to that show (and because they are dolls to begin with) but looking through some old anime pictures I've happened to save some pcitures of other anime characters (mostly random general fanarts) wearing similar clothing.

So are there any other animes where they have this? Thanks

I believe the style could be described as Acristocratic. Ya know, 18-19th century upper-class.

As for other ones like that, my best guess is to just... look for any anime that takes place or has elements from the Middle Ages.

If I understand you right, Le Chevlier D'Eon would be a good choice or Rose of Versailles maybe as they take place in the 18th century upper class of France. Victorian Romance Emma might be good too.

I think you are looking for the dress style known as gothic lolita (the most obvious example for that would be Suigintou's costume).

This site has some examples of anime with such characters, I can't really think of other suggestions myself.

Oh, that reminds me. Monster Princess is one of the series I've heard of with that. There's also Illya from Fate/stay night.

Hmm definitely Le Portrait de Petit Cossette.

Paradise Kiss is a much more modern take.

Mayuko from Sola definitely has that look. Dark Gothic type.
