Count me in. Interesting and entertaining, despite (or because of) its somewhat retro feel. Good lines, interesting development, interesting characters.
The acting of Hosoya Yoshimasa as Tsutsui worked for me, although it was a bit stiff in some way. He played the lead in both Denpateki na Kanojo and Katanagatari. But I thought Namikawa Daisuke was excellent as Prince, and really liked Akesaka Satomi as the neighbor girl. Very interesting start. As I might expect from a show written by Hanada Jukki (Rozen Maiden, Seitokai no Ichizon, Kuragehime, etc.)

Could be. It's always a guessing game, for me, whether the author or the adapter gets the most credit. I haven't read the original, so I don't know how they differ. But I thought the way the story unrolled was good, as were the lines the characters spoke. In any case, I liked the way it started, with both a slightly wandering feeling and a few shocks.

Well actually 1 way to look at it, is it is Men in Black just without the actual Men in Black
We have men in suits but no men in black suits...yet. Like every alien show ever made there is always men in black
