I got to thinking...what if in the first episode, this happens: The Knights are kicking the bad guys' butt, an uber bad guy appears and beats them up, then the episode ends with the Trio showing up to make the save. I know it kinda sounds like the first episode of A's, but it sure is a winning formula if you want to hook in the viewers. I wouldn't be too much in favor of the first episode being like a recap of the last 6 years. Something like that can be put in bits and pieces later in the series just to fill in holes where it's necessary.

Thats what most likely will happen - followed by the trio getting their arses kicked :P Honestly i wouldnt mind a recap, but that is unlikely to happen at the first ep - its not something majority would want to see, and they want people to hook on to the show

It *is* a sort of "combined forces team" now.... Nanoha is the long range artillery, Fate is spearpoint flanked by knights with Hayate in the intermediate position providing logistics and airstrikes. Yuuno, etc are intel-analysts.
They're going to have to think pretty hard to come up with a group to face this team (assuming that they don't have internal strife issues).

Nanoha is primarily a combatant trainer. She's supposed to be off the front line for the most part. Fate was compared to as a police detective, whom is assigned to assignments on a per mission basis, occasionally being able to command more officers. Hayate and her knights are a special task force group which specialises in hunting down Lost Logia artifacts and is said to have special authority in deciding what they can do with them once they found them. So for the most part she and the knights are their own team. I think it would be more likely that a series of clues and incidents will lead Fate and Hayate going onto the same case, and eventually forced Nanoha to join them later on. |

Well what I can imagine happening is that Lindy comes back into field commission due to the gravity of the situation that her old crew has gotten themselve into. Not sure how would the heroine's friends will be involved with whatever coming their way.
Based on the conclusion of A's, Nanoha performs dual role of trainer and investigator so I doubt she'll be out of harm's way. Fate seems to have subordinates (as does Nanoha) although I don't know if they have pernament assignments.

I hope the knights and so are nearly as strong as Nanoha/Fate still. What I want for the next season is teamwork(backing each other up, etc), in A's everyone was fighting 1v1 most of the time. In the first two episodes Nanoha fought Vita 1v1, then Fate vs Vita 1v1, then Yuno vs Vita 1v1. There was that double team on Vita with Fate and Arf, but that didn't last long. The fight in episode 12 was the closest thing to it, but it wasn't really against someone who actually fought back. |

Anyway, yes, I would like to see more team tactics... though it can get rather confusing. |

Providing the directing is good, team tactics and wide battles can be very well done. It's largely a matter of mapping out who is where during the directing process. So long as you don't loose track, your fight will rock!
And yeah, Yuuno isn't exactly the Rambo type. He should hang around Zaphira and Chrono more to pick up at least some combat skills. Hey! Maybe he was visiting Nanoha's family dojo in secret. *Yuuno turns into human form infront of the family (minus Nanoha)* Yuuno: I want to help protect your daughter, Shiro. Can you teach me how to fight? Shiro: I accept everything at face value. Sure, I'll teach you. Then he could fight even while in Ferret form! It'd be like watching Yoda kick ass, except smaller! |

Yeah, Shamal would probably be able to beat Yuno. She'd just create some portal, then you'd see a hand sticking out of Yuno's chest like with Nanoha in episode 2. Then she'd take the linker core and smash it up to bits. Then beat Yuno up with her awesome martial art and ninja skills.
I really like Shamal, she is my favorite knight, I'd huggle her! |
