Maybe but we don't know whether the bone really can withstand the kerr black hole pressure or just an appearance of bones but empty insides. If I'm not mistaken, Okarin did brought jelly banana to a university lab and analyzed it. He found out that the jelly banana was destroyed at molecular level. I wonder.... Looking back at Jellyman's report, the victim's corpsed still have their eyes intact and their bones. Ughhh... something missing....

And so, Team CMS starts actually changing the past. Almost. Winning the lottery is a decently falsifiable time travel changer, but Mayuri's idea of world peace through Upa has its merits. That cuddly panda...thing may be the hope for us all. Johnny T. Itor requesting Rintaro be the messiah...that's a pretty hefty position to take up. Besides the store suddenly having Dr. Pepper (praise be to the Dr. Pepperians) in stock, I wonder what else has changed in this world...

Another really solid episode. We got more blushing Kurisu, which is never enough. Along with Daru's prod at her knowledge of what a "tsundere" is and denying that she knew what is was, was HNNNNNNGGGGHHHH.

There's also strong evidence to point out that Suzuha can be the future daughter of Mr. Braun. When she first proclaimed herself as a soldier that one time. Remember, when we first got introduced to her, Mr. Braun was berating Okabe for calling his daughter a small animal (squirrel), and then suddenly Suzuha interrupts and states that's she is already a soldier, which I found odd.

The atmosphere turned very dark as Okabe was grappling with the sudden realization that he has the ability to retain his memories despite changing the past, able to bypass divergent timelines. The scenes where Okabe and Kurisu were alone were very sweet, and having all the members contact him to give indirect support was very touching.

If I were one of those folks who likes to do the speculative thing on forums I'm sure I'd have worked out a theory for the events of episode 1 based on what we now know... but I'm not, so I'll leave that to other people. :P

The Editor-in-chief must have had a good sense of humor...

Well, first of all, let's get the squee out of the way first. Mayuri was even more adorable this episode, which I don't think was even humanly possible. Sure, I'll gladly hug your Upa, it will surely cheer me up...and for some reason, I replayed the part where she emerged from under the table at the beginning at least 8 times. Hanazawa Kana, excellent as always.

But yeah, things are getting really serious here indeed. The time travel experiments finally have a direct implication where they really changed the past. Although, it seems it's not perfect, not only did they not win the lottery (it was close, though) but for whatever reason Okabe is the only one who retains his memory. So is he really the Messiah that John Titor claims he is (who is he really, anyway?) or is there some other reason for this? Oh, and it can re-stock Dr.Pepper from the store. That's one hell of a product placement, really.

Something else that caught my attention was Suzuha. Well, we can be 90% sure that she's a time traveler, so it surprises me that she's pretty cool with knowing Okarin's time travel experiment (at this point, out of the cast only the cat-maid doesn't know this...maybe). Does she knows that the experiment won't be successful or have any impact on her mission, or is there something else? Not to mention that brainwashing thing, it could be pretty important down the line.

Serious things aside, the dialogue is still snappy as usual (Kurisu have a new nickname!), although even with joining the group Moeka doesn't get that much attention. Oh, and I fully agree with Daru and Okarin, Kurisu is most definitely a tsundere, and my favorite type of tsundere too, SCIENCE Tsundere! The cliffhanger is just cruel, next Tuesday is still so far away..

Just in the middle of rewatching the episode, but they seemed have add a lot more BGM's to the anime now. The past episodes usually have a spar few sprinkled in between different scenes and they were kind of muted ones, but now I've heard a constant stream of them. Are they all from the VN?

Very good episode. Okarin managed to change the past in which he won the lottery, although no else remembers. John Titor confirms that Okarin is the only person in the world who can retain memories when changing world lines, and wants Okarin to be his "messiah." This also explains why no one remembers Kurisu getting stabbed in episode 1. The plot is starting to move. I wonder how much more of the past Okarin will change. Also, I liked that they played the piano version of Gate of Steiner at the end of the episode, made it very atmospheric.

Ocarin creates an alternate univserse in which his message and everything it triggered exists/happens, replacing the universe in which they were, but he takes the place of his "alternate self" in the exact moment in which he send the message?

So the world line was moved. I don't know but I felt that the characters weren't the character I know when the past was changed. But then again the changes were limited to a week ago so.. I take that back lol.

Kurisu totally knows what a tsundere is, that blush can't lie.

So Okarin was able to change the past slightly and is the only one to keep his memories. Still doesn't explain anything yet though. Also what was the point of ripping off the microwave's door?

Suzuha showing strange signs again. So wherever she's from brainwashing is possible and detectable by a chip inside the eyes.

Titor wanting him to be the messiah was just great. I wonder how he wants to change the future.

We've already been told Kurisu uses Internet slang in her speech from time to time. So, I'm not surprised she knows what a tsundere is. Moreover, her reaction along with much of her behaviour prove her as a tsundere, even if a mild one.

Anyway, Suzuha remains the most mysterious and, for me, the most interesting girl. I think by now it should be rather clear she's, quite possibly, a time traveller. Furthermore, her telling Okarin to ask John Titor all those questions he had, makes me think she has some connection to Titor.

A more plot oriented episode than usual this week. That was very informative and interesting, it cleared up a lot of things about the previous episodes. What Okarin is experiencing is most likely not something as simple as retaining his memories of previous timelines. Either he can travel through world lines and can take the place of his alternate selves, as Offizier_Michael already theorized; or the whole world changes around him leaving him unaffected, which would make him the center of the universe, sort of. If it's the later, then he's worthy of being called a messiah. A god, even. Or maybe he's just Blick Winkel.

So, now we know for sure the past has been altered twice, or perhaps only once if the disappearance of the original John Titor of 2000 is a side-effect of altering the past to save Kurisu. I don't really see a connection right now, though. At any rate, I'm pretty sure that Okabe is the one who saved her, first by trying to warn her of the danger (which implies he'll be able to time travel later on) -which failed-, and then by somehow making that satellite crash onto the building to cancel the conference altogether. The question is: who was/is after her life? Why has he not tried to kill her again in this world?

By the way, about Suzuha being Mr. Braun's daughter, they have different eye colour.

Really makes one wonder just how things unravel to the point that he (or someone else) ends up changing the past to save her, and how far that event is in his future. And, unless I'm not thinking things through enough, if he did time travel to save her, it was in the timeline two splits prior, so he originally got to the point where he's changing time in a timeline that she was dead, which makes you wonder what the events were in that timeline that made him suddenly decide to save that specific life, since it can probably be assumed he didn't do it as a response to the murder itself, but rather something else further down the line. Not to mention, by doing so, he ran the risk that never discovered how to change time in the new timeline. Or any of a gazillion other repercussions.

I mean, having the girl buy a lottery ticket somehow resulted in the store having Diet Pepper in stock. I'm not even going to try to theorize what changes occurred when Kurisu was saved, especially since we never really get to see what that original timeline was like since it was changed so early in the series.

Trying so hard not to ruin this by looking up the game synopsis. :/

And yea, part-time girl has to be a time traveler, and from one messed up future it seems where people are brainwashed with chips in their eyes? For now, one wonders if she's one of possibly many accomplices of John Titor, all working to slowly change their future? I get total Terminator protecting John Connor vibes from her. I can't recall if her suggestion for him to talk to Titor was supposed to be innocent in that he's talked about Titor to her a lot or suggestive that she knows about Titor on her own - hard to keep everything in my head; there's just so much!

Something is strange here or i'm not getting it right, Okabe was able to maintain his memory over the time line change but he seemed to not remember about saying the numbers to Ruka earlier, shouldn't he remember if he's able to maintain his memories over a time line jump?
