I'm sure it will happen this time...
Not that it matters that much when they have the event. The big thing for the PS5 is when the system comes out, what is on it, and what it costs. Not coming out this summer so this event is just good to have for a bit of information. Certainly curious how much we'll find out during this event. Hopefully there are a few games I'd honestly be tempted to get a new system for. Though maybe would be for the best for those to not come out too quickly and I could push back thinking about a new system until down the road.

My guess for the price is $500. It seems Microsoft is waiting for Sony to announce their price first so they can respond
Hoping to see tomorrow: Horizon Zero Dawn 2 Spiderman 2 Resident Evil 8 Bloodbourne Remake New God of War game Any of those would get me to purchase PS5 on day one.

And iirc Sony doesn't plan to release PS5 Pro/Slim so they will take this chance to make some money. Quote:
Nevermind Bloodborne's ownership is a pretty complicated matter. I'm pretty sure FromSoft alone doesn't decide on sequels or remakes/remasters. |

The Bloodborne rumour is the least likely thing ever, first of all it's too soon for a remake or remaster, at best they will just have a patch that will have PS5 improvements for the PS4 copy you own since we already know that games will be forward compatible.
Second, those Bloodborne for PC rumours also make no sense since not only can PC users already play the game through PSNow (It doesn't matter if you like it or not, it's still possible), but using Horizon Zero Dawn and Death Stranding as proof means nothing. Those two games are made with the Decima engine which had already been touted as great engine for possible PC ports, Bloodborne is not made with the same engine. And lastly, Bluepoint has been rumored to have been working on a Demon's Souls for a long time now and that they are also making a new ip for PlayStation which they approved. Now, I am not going to completely deny that it could maybe happen, but it just seems counter-intuitive for them to waste time making a remaster of a game that is still perfectly good even by this years new release standards.

This was one of the best gaming event I've seen.
Horizon Zero Dawn: Forbidden West Resident Evil 8 Demon's Souls Hitman 3 Spiderman Miles Morale Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Those are games I have very high interest in especially Horizon and Spiderman.

TBF, aside from the new Spider Man game, I didn't see much that interests me. Lots of good looking stuff but not much to make me go "must buy, day 1".
Also no price or release date. Clearly Sony is playing Chicken with MS on price which probably means that neither of them is confident on the price they can hit at release. At least no one is saying they want people to work overtime to afford their console this time

Hmm...well it was fine. Nothing special, but not horrible. A few games I might think about if I already owned the console. Nothing I’d actually buy a system for though.
No strong feelings. Just a steady step up for PlayStation. At least my wallet feels safer.

GTA5 being released on three different generations of consoles is hilarious. They're really milking that cow for all it's worth.
For a conference that was about showcasing a generation shift (I think they even said it was the biggest yet), it utterly failed. There were no games that made me go "wow". Sure the games look good, but is there a huge technical gap? Not really. Only games I'm interested in are Spider-man 2 and Horizon Zero Dawn 2. Maybe that astronaut game depending on what it's even about.

The PS5 event was a mostly pleasant experience with the unveiling of some long awaited games as well a good variety of other ones. It was a promise that there will eventually be a reason to purchase the system even if its not at launch. That said, needed more gameplay to be a solid presentation rather than video teasers.
Full list of games (bolded titles generated some sort of positive response from me):
A lot of the above games are best described as: "<insert iconic series> ... in 2020!!" The best trailer goes to Little Devil Inside or Deathloop. Horizon 2 reveal made the event for me as I was practically shouting at my screen for them to reveal it in the latter half. As for the actual console; its fine. Not the perfection of the PS4 and PS2 Slim but not the abysmal design of the original PS2 and PS3 either. The digital version disappointed me though. Its so transparent what they're doing with that.

I'm more or less fine with the digital edition of the console since I don't buy physical copies of games anymore. That said I don't buy launch consoles anyway since I prefer to wait for the subsequent models when they iron out the issues you would expect with the launch model.

Yeah, the digital only thing was a concern. A pretty obvious step. One that somewhat leaves me expecting to save several hundreds that would have gone to a PS6. Could really be my last console generation in that case. But that’s being dramatic. It’s just a concerning development thus far.
Out of the games there...only really Horizon 2 has me really interested. But this was just one event. May have more interesting games to show later.

The biggest issue right now is that they haven't committed to which titles are launch titles, as you'd think they'd announce those titles by now even if they don't have an exact launch date. Launch period succeeds or fails based on launch titles.
