The Dubbing of Code Geass

When i watch the original, it is kinda difficult for me to find dub that likable, as i did with the japanese one.
But watching the first five epis, i think CG dub is not as bad as i thought. In fact, i love more Suzaku+Euphemia's english counterparts. Rest of the VA are ok, nothing that can make me go woah though.

In this case, I'd imagine that the main voice cast will have all the accumulated experience from their dubbing of the first season, so the R2 dub, even if it may be rushed in terms of time, will already have a fair number of voice actors who should know how to best handle the characters...from their perspective, some of us may like or dislike them anyways.

Actually, it's not a trainwreck. Code Geass R2 goes nowhere w/ 1 or 2 episodes but Director Taniguchi saved the series from trainwreck.

But an anime that can be considered as a trainwreck is.... Gundam SEED Destiny. Although we knew in Director Fukuda's case that it's not entirely his fault, but his wife is to blame.

And D-KLAC is a jerk that doesn't like Metal Gear Solid 3 and The Dark Knight.

I'm terribly biased in favor of subs so don't mind me. As far as I'm concerned, the best use a dub can be is to be for those who can't see but would still like to experience the anime.

Well its your opinion, and well I don't agree with you in the least.

I prefer Outlaw Star's dub to the sub, because I felt the actors overall where superior in the english version.

Steven Blum did one of the finest jobs I have ever seen anyone do in Cowboy Bebop giving us the most memorable ending in anime history.

I find Gurren Lagann to be an excellent dub, and not a single weak link.

hoi since GS was shown in 02 then dub in 04 while GSD was shown in 04 then dub in 06 at least it got a fair time to check the dubbing, hearing, etc.

Ur talking about the Tagalog dub of Gundam SEED and Gundam SEED. The Philippine dubbing industry is far more different than in the US and the program acquisitions in our country is far more different than in the US. The US has many voice talents than in our country; and they are very talented. The Tagalog dub of Gundam SEED doesn't have a good dub ang Gundam SEED Destiny made it even worse. I don't like Meyrin's (i want to shoot her because her Meyrin voice is irritating) and Kira's but I like Athrun's.

you're so wrong besides GS english was done by the ocean group aka canada english.

plus geass english was done by u.s. dubber & really the roster of u.s. dubber is very long than the ocean dubbers.

besides 2 years thing is from jap tv language to english dub tv/dvd for GS series.

Yu Yu Hakusho dub was better than the sub in my opinion. And Fullmetal Alchemist dub was also great.

I have problems with Pinkee Rebucas (Meyrin's Tagalog VA). But only to Meyrin and not to her other roles.

Really? That was 4 years ago, not today. The Fate/Stay Night anime was aired in Japan in 2006 but the Animax version was released a year later. Then the Funimation dub was released in 2008. It depends on the distributors, ya know. So why you whine anyway?

Gundam 00 was aired in 2007 but is was announced at the New York Comic Con last April and it will be aired at Sci-Fi this November.

And remember, Code Geass has two seasons but they are 25 episodes each. It's like you combine the two seasons into one show. So that's okay if the second season will follow in the US and I don't expect that it will suck. Do u know how many episodes that Naruto and Bleach have? They have MORE than 25 plus the torturing fillers. Sheesh....

I put D-KLAC on my ignore list long ago. It's made this thread a lot nicer to look at. I'd suggest the same course of action to you and everyone else.

Anyway, as Dream Traveller said, 8 months is long enough. The standards of distribution of releasing anime in the US is far more different today than in our country. Yes, Gundam SEED was shown in 2002 and it was distributed 2 years later in the US and in our country... but both versions doesn't have good dubs, honestly.

So there's no problem about season 2 being aired after season 1. Actually, most of the dubbers in Code Geass have more experience. It's like ur watching Naruto and Bleach but there is still quality.
