Do not mock my mastery of the obvious it took many years of intensive training to refine it to this level.

Besides if you ask an obvious question you'll get the obvious answer.

But anyway in the quarterfinals they may of been in last place at the time, but in the semis everyone else has written Achiga's chances as a lost cause. To play so well against three other high level schools at once and to apparently dominate her round so thoroughly against Shiratodai is rather impressive.

Or maybe Ako is just being a tsundere about it, or is trying to reassure herself about her chances during her round due to nerves, that's just speculation though.

Actually the silhouettes are of Jindai and Koromo. Does this mean that Kei was actually a monster all this time?

Interesting how the new commentator actually has an AGE connected to her name. Since she's 28, this puts here in the same bracket as Akado and Kokaji.

If you recall, Kei was shown at the end of the anime along with Teru, Komaki and Nelly, so it's a fair bet she's another monster. Certainly she must be a more significant character than she currently appears.

That wasn't the actual dialogue, but it sure matches the impression given by that scene. And Hisa actually looks more shocked than that in the canon material

Yeah, I'm not sure what Saki felt during her last match. She seemed pretty much chill out to me, taking her time until very last moment to act. Kyouko is the one who shown all signs of nervousness here or at least it appeared that way.

In other words, +/- zero is a sort of defensive reaction. Why she thought they were more powerful than Koromo rather eludes me; presumably she forgot about taking her socks off, too!

Hence, she reverted to her most comfortable +-0 style. Now, she's warning Hisa that the most troublesome school will still be there, and that she might not win the next time. And Hisa thought Saki had everything under control, since she doesn't need to take off her socks, which Saki actually forgot to. - The 8th team in the semis is announced. (well, at least the school name) and looks like another round of characterization will follow. - Another mahjong pro analyst is shown and I can already feel the VA voicing her. And that still doesn't compute, I mean, what the hell? Ritz spends a good chunk of the match making Kyoko look like a poor sap that has no place anywhere near that table, and she is the one Saki is more concerned about? Did I miss something? And Saki looked like the was channeling death itself too, what the hell? Is that on purpose? Is the whole "Saki perspective" thing real? Also, Toyone T_T The poor thing. She definetly deserves all the Eisui service. Except Kasumi, do not get her anywhere near that monster.
