Heh... "My Windows2000, a dependable woman." (could be slightly wrong though.)

You want to see what my desktop looks like? Okay... This is it with all active windows minimized:

Very much as I described.

I found it, actually, on some weird site filled with abstract technical art.

I wish I could make images like that but I'm not that artistically inclined... I have trouble drawing stickmen. >.>

In the picture those are the spots where i dump my keyboard and my mouse when im not using it. What you cant see is my bed thats right infront of my setup. My rooms small so I usually lean agains my wall on my bed and put my keyboard in my lap when i need to use it, and my bed is my mouse pad ^_^ *optical mouse btw. makes things much easier*

Underclocking will acutally only cause problems. It might cool your processor a few degrees... but you'll just notice downed performance. Plus, if you underclock, you can't clock it back to where it was again... you might blow it up! I'm serious about this!

My friend wanted to do it to give him more battery life on his laptop... but it never worked... only caused problems..

Problems? It doesn't cause problems, well actually that's not true, depending on what you do change, it'll cause problems. I've had mine running 500-600mhz slower than it was supposed to for like 5 months before I bothered to care, read the book and changed the correct setting, but speed was the only problem in that case. (and that proves you can change it to make it faster, slower, or what it's supposed to run at)

Well, got bored, so I have a new desktop now.

Underclocking and Overclocking "Isnt Possible With Certain Motherboards". UC'ing and OC'ing all depend on your motherboard.

Some mobos you have to move the jumpers around on the thing while others like mine come with and OC menu in the bios. My perticular mobo also has this chip called "CoreCell" which has a built in OC menu program that Lets me OC mine comp.

*Note* Also the compadibility of your memory is a factor too

Heres a pic of it. I OC'ed it a lil for shits and giggles I usually have it on stock settings 3.0ghz 200fsb
Spoiler:

As far as getting back your original settings from Oc'ing or UC'ing I dont see why you wouldnt be able to do that.... All you do is put everything back to the way it was and it'll be the same. The only risk of of messing with the computer speed is really OC'ing. You wont blow up your comp but fry it if you goto far. All in all though they are all safe to try if you know how to mess with your settings. No real risk of losing stuff on you HDD either.

Oh and here's a my new wall for today atleast ^_^

hmm the source...where I got it...honestly no idea, but if you google the name of the person who made it, you might find something. But if you just want the wallpaper without my winamp and taskbar I can do that.

edit: starting to think it might be from deviantart, but the artist known as 'dragonkahn' doesn't have it listed as one of his
