Mexico was playing with fire on those set pieces... All those corners were going to bite them sooner or later. Soccer is an amazing game - Mexico is the better team, looks physically fresher. But they score a goal, and all of a sudden they pull back into a shell and Netherlands runs at them for 40 minutes until the finally crack.
The curse of Mexico continues. This one may be the most painful of all.

Agreed Enzo, as I said the goal was probably the worst thing that could have happened to them. Sometimes it's better to score in the 88th minute and not the 48th minute.
As for Mexico, if they ended up being group leaders instead of second they might reach the quarter-finals for once. You just did.

Well, after watching this game. I don't think Netherlands deserves to win this WC. If they really were in the other side and played like this against: France, Colombia or Germany. They would be home by now. I was not amused about their game at all. They depend too much on Robben and his individual quality's.
Well, about the match considering everything that happened. It didn't deserve that kind of ending. but well, congratulations to the Netherlands.

Anyway, Louis van Gaal has a lot of Ferguson in him when it comes to get his troops fighting to the very bitter end. He will well and truly be earning his money in the Northwest of England. |

Don't forget the weather conditions out there - 38 degrees Celsius in the sun, with 70% humidity. No one is going to be a their best in those conditions. Holland did what they had to do to get through - style points are for rhythmic gymnastics and figure skating.

Who will they face in semi-final if all the favourite go through? Brazil, Argentina or German/France?
