Even his name has "eccentric" in it so felix could be right about this one. With the numbers being in Arabic meaning, while his name comes from Latin possibly?

Actually, it was wrong Anyways...since NW has gone AWOL again (), time to try my luck with the first riddle. Since, NW has said that the math will take a leap of imagination to solve...let's start off with the craziest idea Anyways, going off Remon's idea that it's a clock... The beginning/end refers to 00:00/24:00 1st Kingdom: Hour=5 Minutes=6+3+3=12 2nd Kingdom: Hour=7 Minutes=16 3rd kingdom: hour=9 Minutes=20 or 0 4th Kingdom: Hour=13 Minutes=28 or 0 5th Kingdom: Hour=11 or 23 Minutes= 24 or 48 ***For future reference: Time elapsed in real time is 7 days, 3 days, then 6 years, which equals 6 years and 10 days total. Therefore, going through multiple combinations, 512+716+900+1328+1124=4580 Person also has over 100 posts http://forums.animesuki.com/member.php?u=4580 Of course, I have yet to go through all the combinations for multiplication of the numbers or the differences of the without decimals, using the colon as the decimal, and converting the minutes into factions and then using/not using a decimal. I honestly think the hardest thing about this riddle is its ambiguous nature, which thereby generates countless permutations using the same interpretation. I think I'm going to start a notebook with all possible answers, since I'm starting to get lost and forget which ones I already tried by hasty work done on scratch paper __________________

Answer is incorrect, sorry. You should look back at all the things people found already and on the hints. There are a lot of things you miss in your interpretation, like for example did you notice the picture and what it was for?

He’s only been gone 10 days, he’ll be back soon. I haven’t been keeping time, but the answering period for the riddle is over, correct?

I got the minutes by adding up the king, number killed and number left FYI. Or I was the only one who thought kingdom v=6 because of the apple>radish in the pic but since everyone used 5 anyways, I decided to just go with that . And yeah it's over __________________

Of course that “V” is a 5, lol.

I’m starting to think the real problem here is that when a riddle goes on for this long people just forget what was already figured out, or get something that’s on the right track but because it’s not exactly it just go way off in their next guess. I guess it’s a pretty big riddle so to make things more fun I’ll start telling you guys if you’re getting warm or cold; instead of just the boring “incorrect”. To start with, this answer http://forums.animesuki.com/showpost...&postcount=244 was warm. On the other hand, @Rennir’s answer above was pretty cold.

Good luck.

Every riddle (except the first) has a 2 week answering period.
The first lasts until all other riddles are answered or expire.

If the author (Rennir) is happy to let it continue until it is solved or all of the others are solved I don't mind. Keeping it going only disadvantages Rennir. Either way the next riddle will go up sometime today.-- Best laid plans...

The original intention was was two weeks for each of them, but your riddle was quite hard until you understand the key to it and as I say it only disadvantages the author to keep it going. Plus you're not interested in winning anyway In theory all those points could apply to any of the riddles if the author is happy with that.

Might need to start using more riddles from the already used authors pool, after this next one, as I seem to have miscounted (or counted too many of felix's many submissions ) and over estimated how many I'd have.

The last hint you posted for Rennir's riddle said "take the last line literally, that's all you are getting for now," so I was expecting another hint in the future, I suppose this isn't possible?

Well my thinking was that Arabs were famous for numbers, and I know that Arabs were one of the first cultures to actually use a zero number. Anyways, I think that the amalgam might be a mix of numbers and letters for a word. Like l33t. Last edited by Supramax; 2011-06-13 at 02:55.
2011-06-12, 17:19 Link #753 Rennir Quietly Lurking Graphic Designer     Join Date: Mar 2010 Location: Beneath the prodigious sky... Well I am okay with it either way. Obviously, I want to win and I'd rather not be at a disadvantage. However, if people think that NW's hint and what I revealed were not enough as hints, then I think it's fair to agree on another deadline (not til the end of the contest though, because mine is nowhere near as hard as felix's ). __________________ Last edited by Rennir; 2011-06-13 at 09:30.
2011-06-13, 11:44 Link #754 Rennir Quietly Lurking Graphic Designer     Join Date: Mar 2010 Location: Beneath the prodigious sky... Ok just an update. Nightwish and I decided to extend the riddle an extra week from the original deadline, which means that everyone has until Thursday (3 more days) to guess. As for the hint, NW and I are still discussing an apt hint that doesn't completely give away the entire riddle but will point everyone in the right direction. However, since there's 3 days left, I thought I'd first post one that in my mind, is apt. If NW doesn't seem to think so, then another hint can be posted. Hint: One could say that the origin is Roman as well. __________________ Last edited by Rennir; 2011-06-13 at 12:40.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by duality and such? The other parts were pretty clever though. Good job. __________________ Last edited by felix; 2011-06-18 at 06:57.
2011-06-18, 08:50 Link #758 Rennir Quietly Lurking Graphic Designer     Join Date: Mar 2010 Location: Beneath the prodigious sky... Well yes, you're right about vex. But the way that I was interpreting the word "Vexx" included a numerical interpretation of all of the letters, along with the normal interpretation that the letters were just letters. So that's why I put Arabic and duality: because you can think of vexx in two ways in the riddle. __________________
