On another note, this episode was a mixed bag for me. I liked all the action in the second part, but all the cutesy moe thing going on in the first part seemed a bit out of place for me. All in all, I was a good episode. I only hope it'll get a bit more serious along the way.

That curious i didnt get that feeling at all when i first heard her voice. I never thought of it as artificial but strangely captivating in a way like you cant stop listening to what she says.

Somehow I doubt they did. There wasn't any real "romance" to ship in it or they appear late in the series.

Alister tells Dio she was wondering where he ran off too all these months and was surprised that he was hanging around with the Sky Pirates. Both her and Taniana are genuinely surprised when Dio tells them that Millia's sister is one of Exile's keys.

Also Fam gets pissed off at Dio, asking him since he was part of the Sylvius' crew he should have given them more information right off the bat etc...

Good episode all around. I'm hoping this series will be as long as the original.

Oh, I can already hear the complaining about how the show managed to somehow get Millia to walk around the Silvius in a Maid Costume (inevitable after we learned about the tailor in the hangar crew, I think). It was really hard to take her speech seriously because of the dress.

She's trying to help out, even though I have no big problems with it, mostly. She obviously can't look to be a mechanic (already done in the first series with Lavie), but I think they could have/could go (since Alis' remark and Fam and Gizelle's reaction might mean a switch up next ep or soon) with something better than ~maid~? I quite like the idea of Millia taking acoustic listening lessons from Cecily or something, for example (Cecily is sort of adorbs).

As for the ep as a whole, loved it and I really can't wait for a translation. *_* Lots of taking and discussion and speeches.

Also, Luscinia is Edward Cullen creepin' on Liliana while she's sleeping, whut. Sara is also adorable and I love how despite Luscinia's speech she got right up to speak to everyone too. Next episode preview for her looks promising, poor tiny empress.

I'm also feeling the fuzzies from the Silvius' mechanics. I loved the Silvana crew, but these guys also seem those levels of lovable as well. As for Tatiana and Alis, well we got to love on them last episode, but seeing them more in this one makes me so happy. Not just in Tatiana's case since she's still Tatiana, but I'm so glad we get to see more Alis, she was such a minor character in comparison in the first series.

Despite not understanding much, I can already tell that this episode seems really good~ Initially in the first series I didn't really like Tatiana all that much as everyone else here on the board, but in this series with more responsibility and what I feel is more maturity, I've gotten to like her a lot.

- Good stuff. Though I still don't like how this series like to juggle two plotlines at the same time. By this I mean how they were showing scenes of Fam and co. trying to capture that ship, and this is interspersed with scenes of Miria and Teddy trying to get people to listen to her. It takes really good directing to weave two very different sequences together and Last Exile had tried and tried again to no avail.

- I wondered from where exactly did Miria learn about maid uniforms and their supposed ability to charm men.

- Fam and Giz are both so very short.

- I'm slowly getting used to Gonzo's consistently off model character art. People really can get used to everything.

- I liked how Teddy kept taking down useless notes about the maid uniform.

So Fam and crew finally got their 1st two Ades battleships. Now there's 13 more ships to go before they're finish with their deal with Tatiana.

Having them play chess again is so awesome.

Sounds great, I liked Tatiana before as she developed and was always hoping we'd see the next stage of her growth and ep 4 started that off nicely and I can't wait to see more of her and Alister in the latest ep.

Yeah it's hard to describe but the details essentially made me not have a big problem with it either, mostly, since her trying to helpful was so strongly behind it but I'll still be a bit fair since I usually nitpick other shows for forcing bits like this so just like you I agree it could have easily been done without having to stick her in a maid outfit since that kind of fallback is not necessary for a show that's this good even for an ep where she's searching for a way to be useful on this kind of ship, but it still doesn't seem as bad as it could have been since the results don't seem to play out quite like the typical fanservice due to her actual motives, a tame maid outfit, her lines, and the non-reactions to it, and it really kind of looks like it instead comes off as her trying way too hard since she's basically got no useful skills at the moment which is quite respectable and as such adds to her character, so I guess I don't feel as bad about it as I might especially with Fam and Giselle laughing at her for it (and her dropping the outfit back to the flight gear) at the end like you say and yeah hopefully they'll switch it up to some more productive "career path" starting next ep.

Yeah I'm loving the sound of Dagobert even just being around even if he'll likely be just as minor as before, hearing he's shown playing chess again with Dio is just freaking cool as an old fan! And totally agree on Alister, it's great to see.

Good to hear the Sara stuff, she's been surprisingly good in her role and giving a touch of what Ades might have been like before their war started again for this goal after whatever happened at the last Grand Race kicked off conflict again. I'm extremely curious how Luscinia's storyline is going to develop.

That's awesome news, I grew to love the Silvana crew members, they were so incredibly fun to watch and it was awesome watching them gradually take in Claus, Lavie and Al as "part of the family."

I like how they've got guns at the ready even in some of the draws and cupboards just like the old crew always ready to fight.

and I was pleasantly surprised to finally hear one of the Norkia pieces again and the new one in a similar style when she changed to the maid outfit and at the end of the ep, I was wondering if we'd ever hear any of those again since we've already left the Sky Pirate base.

The story is developing really slow and it's kinda starting to annoy me.
The flying around parts were actually pretty interesting and so was the ending.

We're at episode five, and if anything (aside from the little aside with Milia) things seem to be slowly building momentum. My guess is we'll likely see movement (major or otherwise) by episodes 7-9 (in the first series, this is where the Horizon Caves race took place).

I'm not worried, it's only episode 5. If anything, this series is one episode ahead of its predecessor. In the first Last Exile, episode 5 was when Claus and Lavie first make it aboard the Silvana.

I guess this is a "gag" episode with character development. Not a fan of "maid" but I like how it totally fail here (well beside working on Fam).

Tatiana told Millia that the maid outfit fitted her well. (and it's actually true)
Gisey should be the main character, she's just awesome. Looks like Olaf agree. Why do I have the feeling that once they got their 15 ships, Tatiana/Alister are going to offer Giselle to become a crewmember of the Silvius and Fam still seems to want to steal it.

Leonard (the cook) have a really manly voice.

Also, it is confirmed that Tatiana haven't changed at all: They are late. Still a perfectionist.

So I guess that Millia will try to make the entire Silvius the new Turan now? I did find her comment to Tatiana about her people causing "them" trouble interesting. I guess that Turan and Anatoray got into conflict when the later "landed"...
