Do you guys not remember about reishi? Or is this about Bleach readers being Bleach readers?
not about reishi lol she says she's already technically dead now that she froze herself to 0 degree so what about the fear of dying after that? hur dur

^ Correction: absolute zero, according to her. Oh, and the thing about reishi-based lifeforms is a response to those who complain about the laws of physics being violated with Hihio Zabimaru.

Speculah: As Nodt fights using a conceptual weapon that moves from reishi to reishi using the soul's innate "fear of death". It only works on living reishi for that reason.

I wouldn't count As out yet. I think Kubo's going to use Rukia as fodder in order to powerup Byakuya.

In either case......this is seriously the first time Rukia has been useful since the timeskip years ago. No wonder it's fucking snowing constantly....THIS IS THE RUKIA I HAVE BEEN WANTING TO SEE FOR YEARS!!!

I personally expect it to completely shut her down once she ends her technique. For her sake I hope she has actually defeated Äs Nödt by then...

She doesn't have to not defeat Äs Nödt in order for Byakuya to swoop in and have to save her. There are plenty of other Sternritters still running around invisible to her senses. Any one of them could come up on her as she's recovering from Äs's fear technique hitting her hard as soon as she thaws. Maybe we'll get lucky and Kubo will decide to view the ensuing battle from her perspective, warped a la Scarecrow's fear toxin from Batman... A demonic Byakuya vs an angelic (yet still "terrible" in the classic sense) Quincy...

EDIT:
LOL 5000 GET!

Yeah I had put a list a few pages back to get rid 60% of the cast that don't contribute anything.

And its funny how peole made such a big deal out of Freeza's 5 minute line and now well... lolkubo

That reliance further adds to the shallow characterization of the story. It says "screw your kido and flash steps and hollow masks", just get a bigger sword and you'll be the boss.

It really is sad to think the invasion was two years ago, and yet we still have SO MANY characters to see. We know the Fullbringers will appear, so will some Arrancar, probably the other Vizards as well, and there really aren't THAT many antogonists left? I mean, it is sad to think about how much longer this will get dragged out at this pace. Renji's fight alone took a few chapters, and so far Äs Nödt has done NOTHING so, until he shows his hand, he is probably still around.

Also Rukia's power is stupid. It isn't even a dance now.

TBH, against Hollows, which is what Shinigami normally fight against, it would be. She wouldn't need to get much below freezing. She may not even have to "kill" herself. She could just skate around making Hollowsicles...

Besides, she's only shown one powerup, and hasn't even reintegrated her old abilities. Once Äs Nödt shrugs off being frozen to absolute zero like we know he(?) will, we'll see Sode no Shirayuki's real power...

...You know, again...

Well it's not longer the Sode no Shirayuki of the past. Let's put that in our heads now.

Not in Bleach. Here, afterlife is exactly that: a life after death, so spirits are as alive as humans - just made of reishi instead of atoms and molecules. They breathe, sleep, eat, drink, sweat, bleed, get sick, and it has been so for almost 600 chapters; and now you are shocked at Rukia saying she can make herself dead. Rapid thinking.

if you want to get technical about bleach then the only way to kill a shinigami is to chop their heads off. freezing shouldn't make her die

You mean the only guaranteed way, but certainly not the only way. As Nodt killed countless Shinigami mooks by giving them heart attacks, and that's just one example.

"Pile of hamburger" is probably a more apt description, but the point holds. Shinigami are notoriously hard to kill when Kubo doesn't want them dead. We've had bisections, half a torso being blown away, shreddings, etc., and they're good as new after a little time with the 4th Squad, but one stray stab wound when it's their time, and...
