Not "anime" but "animated films"

I love anime, like, girl fighters, sci-fi cyberpunk, giant robots, etc. But I like animated films we can find at international film festivals.

I just found this is good news. Three Japanese animated films got best awards at a film festival.

Any recommendations like this? Animated films?

BTW, just found this fascinating as well. Not animation though.

Anime simply means Japanese animation... it doesn't have to conform to a certain art style or whatever. You're making a distinction that doesn't exist.

Ummm... I don't even... where to begin....

Jedinat is right. Anime = Japanese Animation. It's really a catch all term for anything animated that comes out of Japan. So where is the distinction? Do you just mean you want films instead of series or something? Or if you're looking for an actual art style you need to give us something better than a link to a "super powerful public drinking fountain" (over over link) or a youtube of someone doing figure drawing. There are way too many styles out there.
