It still followed the rule that it only activate when something bad happened.

It looks like revival is affected by his will now. Even the first jump he made back to 1988 defied the normal rules (i.e. prevent a negative event before it happens).

Yeah, but it was always something bad that happened to others. He explained that in fact he often ended up paying the price, and in the one case we saw he was hospitalized.

Yes, that's the point. Two female victims isn't enough of a sample size to conclude that the killer only goes after girls, and when you throw in a male victim the logical conclusion should be that the killer is an equal opportunity murderer, not that he mistook Hiromi for a girl.

The only way the conclusion makes sense is if there's some indication of sexual assault against the girls and none on Hiromi, but if that's the case they haven't mentioned it in the anime.

Maybe it's hinted at in the novels or manga. Girls aren't just murdered when abducted. People would assume rape occurred.

I've been reading the Manga since the episode before the MC returned to the present.
So far, no rape accounts have been mentioned when the abductions were talked about.

Good episode, but with this pacing they can't adapt the whole manga.

I don't think a second season is posible so I guess they'll go for an anime-original ending. It's a shame.

That tweet was kind of ambiguous. It says something like "look forward to the original ending." AnimeNewsNetwork assumed that means they're going for the manga ending, but it's not that clear.

More importantly, with this pacing they just can't get to the manga ending. That much I'm pretty sure of.

I do not know what plan Satoru's mother has in mind but admitting they can save Kayo, will we now see Satoru trying to save the other kids aswell? It's the only thing i think this show is missing. But i do not believe only 4 episodes will be enough. This will be rushed unfortunately, unless the author never intended to focus the other kids and will only use Kayo to reveal the killer (and his past story) or actually showing him succeeding and Satoru failing..lol. That would be a nice twist xD

Excellent, simply put this episode was perfect even if they are moving fast through the manga.

Everyhting was tense and serious this time with Satoru going at 100% on every movement he did, Kayo's mother is for sure one of the worst mothers ever seen, you NEVER do that to your kid, nor hating your own daughter and pushing her own problems into her using violence.

For now the teacher is being useful once and for all, everything thanks to Satoru and what his mother did.

The scenes with Kayo at the Fujinuma household were both moving and heartwarming. Sachiko proved once again she is best girl, Satoru should have gone to her right away. If only Kayo could stay with them...

So the killer was also using the bus as a place to store his killing tools. Talk about a major coincidence. I said last week Satoru's plan to have Kayo take refuge inside an abandoned bus was terrible, but I had no idea how much. He almost delivered her right to him. To be honest, I felt this reveal was in reality a contrived way to provide a clue (the shoe print) to Satoru.

OK, so more clues this episode. That was the true killer that entered the bus. He is frustrated that he can't find Kayo. So now that Satoru has found the killer's base of operations, he now needs to find a way for the police to find it and connect it to the killer. However, the proof is the important part. Since a murder has already occurred in the next town, there is potential that the bus can be linked to that murder instead of any future murder.

Also, the teacher made a mysterious call to someone after Sachiko called him. I'm beginning to wonder if the killer is actually 2 people instead of just one. The main reason I think this is because when we initially saw the abductor in episode one, he had a scruffy mustache, like he is unshaven. That is very abnormal for a politician to look like even for 1 day.. Later the following night, he was clean shaven and in a suit. It really wouldn't have made sense for him to just shave and be in a suit to go kill Sachiko.

As for Sayo, I don't think they are returning her to her mom. That just does not make sense, as that would leave her vulnerable even if it is one night. At the very least, they are reporting to Kayo's mom. I curious what the next move is, since I'm expecting a lot of doom and gloom to happen in the next episode.

Excellent episode. I loved it. And Sachiko is awesome. Not a surprise. She basically was ahead of his son all this time. She prepared her the bento-breakfast, she brought her a pajamas and also prepared dinner for all his friends. She was also in contact with his teacher (despite it could be a bad sign about him). The care she put in give Kayo the love she had been missing was heartwarming. I loved she took a bath with her.

About the killer well, they have his hideout with some evidence. They have to find a way to inform the police.
If the killer was the teacher he should have known about Satoru involvement so he wouldn't have been clueless about Kayo. This should rule him out. Even if I wouldn't bet on it yet.
