HDloader works great!

I thought it might be a mod chip with a cd for software to get it up going, but no its just a cd they send you. After that you buy the Sony network adaptor and a hard drive and your ready to go. So far San Andreas, Tekken (4 I think), Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance, Ratchet and Crank, Jax 1 & 2, Vice City ,Robotech Battle Cry, Spy Hunter 2 , and Midway Treasures #2 have all loaded up without issue since I got it the other day. I think its faster than by the drive. I used a 120gig Seagate (we had them at work for 49.99 after rebate) and it plugged right in without issue
Ill keep yall posted if any problems arise

and Im sure you could just dl the software and it would work fine, just a tip from your uncle Scott

It's a software for PS2 that lets you copy PS2 games onto a third-party internal hard drive (doesn't have to be the one that comes with FFXI), and load them from there. Kinda like how people mod the Xbox to load games from its hard drive. Oh and it only works on the old PS2 because the new smaller PS2 doesn't have a hard drive bay.

I don't use it though. I prefer buying the games that I want to play.

I was planning on getting this a while ago... but the site ( doesn't exist anymore and I thought the project was scrapped... thanks for the info and the update Forklift.... it's time to make my PS2 just as fun as my Xbox...

well it only works with original copies (games that you buy),
unless of course your ps2 is modded or u use some homebrew applications.
the only advantage is that most games have a shorter loading time, if stored on a HDD

btw the production of the HDLoader was basically stopped after its initial release.
A similar product is named HDadavce, which is a basically a rip-off of the HDLoader,
but still being produced.

You could still borrow games from friends or video store, load them on the hd and give them back... sounds great
