There's a description out now:

Quote:
The new series is set in a near-future world where the boundary between human being and AI is vague. A rapid biological evolution, similar to "Cambrian Explosion," is caused by one incident. This incident turns into the genesis of a new jostle for supremacy, and the influence of the evolution goes beyond biological framework and spreads to various kinds of materials and technologies. The era of massive evolution involving diverse existences, such as human, machines and biotechnologies, is coming. Characters fight an existential war in such a world.

Sounds like an awesome idea and that artwork for the city looks fantastic. I'll be looking forward to this one for sure.

Dammit I was hoping a throwback to Escaflowne, but I guess I'll take this too.

Also forgot to mention that it will be targeting a worldwide audience, and will be launched globally.

Xiamen Skyloong Media is part of the anime's production. (I'm not familiar with this)

I know people say certain kind of anime is too niche, but everytime I read this I can't help but feeling worried.

Another thing I'm worried about is that this is another original show by Kawamori, who last made Nobunaga the Fool. (Macross is, of course, not counted.) Add to that the souring sentiment towards original anime in this community at least, and you got a show that might be good looking and interesting on paper, but might just be another letdown.

Is he going to do this and Macross in 2018? That's kinda crazy.

Could be the best science fiction oriented anime since GITS: Stand Alone Complex. Although there's pretty strong competition these days with Knights of Sidonia and Ajin.
