1. No
2. No.
3. No idea.

Unless....... define what you mean when you say "dark", because it seemed pretty up tempo for a vamp show.

hmm, up tempo, I guess,

I mean something pretty similar to it, with action, the same depressing kind of ending
hard to describe

yeah, basically a show similar to shingetsutan tsukihime

1. Princess whatever(not bothering to look) isn't the same type.

2. Narutaru is just friggin' weird.

3. I dunno about Mermaid forest, but from what i've heard it's little in similarity.

Shingetsutan Tsukihime is quite unique .

really? too bad

it seems to be one of the best animes I've ever seen

"Unless....... define what you mean when you say "dark", because it seemed pretty up tempo for a vamp show."

yeah, I mainly watch comedies, so even having vampires makes it pretty dark comparitively

TRAITOR! GET HIM!

Er.. yeah.

Ok, the princess one you might like, but stay away from Narutaru, this is your first and last warning. We appreciate your cooperation .

I would classify Tsukihime as "gothic" (of or relating to a style of fiction that emphasizes the grotesque, mysterious, and desolate) as opposed to "dark," which generally deals with some sort of psychology.

Mermaid's Forest fits into this category. It is thematically similar but stylistically flatter.

Here are some similar fansubbed series:
St. Luminous Mission High School, which I found intriguing but a bit weak at the finish.
Gakkou no Kaidan which means roughly "elementary school ghost stories."
Hundred Stories is both gothic and dark, and is somewhat ambitious in its storytelling.
Oniisama E... is absolutely stunning, but you will have to seek out fansubbed tapes.

Some licensed series:
Vampire Princess Miyu OAV is marvellous. But give the TV series a pass, the production quality is too low.
Boogiepop Phantom is sort of an omnibus of urban legends.
Ayashi no Ceres wraps gothic elements around a shoujo romance.
