Problems with Media Player 11, Vista and MKV/H264 files

I just built a new Vista PC to replace my old stuff. With Windows Media Player version 11, MKV/H264 files will not display subtitles. The same files will work fine with Media Player Classic. I'm running the latest CCCP. This problem really doesn't bug me, since I can still get my anime fix, but I thought I would post about it and see if anyone knew anything.

Check "autoload vsfilter (wmp & mce support)" in CCCP settings, 2nd page and apply.

Thanks for the 411, emptyeighty. I've got Media Center on Madoka (HP m8120n), and it was a pain in the but to have to switch between it and Core Media Player so that I can watch my .mkv's. Does that work for .ogg's as well?

Sigh...I just wish that I could figure out how to get my second scanner to play nicely.

Since I don't think it deserves its own thread: Is anyone having trouble with videos in MPC or Zoom Player having a jaggie apperance in Vista, when played in full screen? It's not really a problem since Media Player plays them perfectly just curious if the same thing is happening to anyone else.

The problem depends highly on what playback filters and vidcard driver you're using. Try changing renderer to Haali's, that may help.

I haven't seen a lot of videos with VLC, but it is the one I use from time to time on Vista, and I have not noticed any jaggies with it.
