I guess the first thing to ask is do you have sound for anything at all?

On occasion a program will take either the master volume, or the wave volume level down to 0 and you have to reset it back up to get your sound back.

Dumb question from me: Did you restart?

If NicoDouga caused you to lose sound, closing off Firefox (and make sure firefox.exe is killed) and restarting might fix it. Some application may have died somewhere and is still taking up your sound output channels.

make sure your speakers are plugged in tight

TWO make sure the volume i son

THREE make sure its not on mute on the master volume and make sure its not on mute on the video player

FOUR restart the computer

FIVE does anything make sound at all? do you hear beeps when starting the computer does XP make the startup chime?

SIX did you reinstall windows XP anytime in the last 3 months? if so did you download the proper audio driver if you did not use a reformat disc that came with a store bought computer? search for realtek audio drivers if you need to
