Winter Sonata

I used to love this show when it was airing. I guess if this goes well then maybe other Korean dramas will be animated as well, not sure if that'd be a good thing though. Official Site with trailer: http://http://anime-wintersonata.com Last edited by cicido; 2008-03-30 at 16:24. |

THE most explosive news of the series?
Bae Yong Joon (YON SAMA) will voice himself in the anime.. This just gets crazier and crazier. Call me crazy, but if the show doesn't get Honey & Clover anime treatment, it'd be disappointing. It deserves it. |

Winter Sonata was also among the first Korean dramas to be imported to some countries.

IMO, the plot is standard for a romantic drama, but probably no worse than the scores of soap operas and shounen romances out there (look at the praise that Bokura ga Ita, Kimi ga Nozomu Eien, and True Tears got). If the adaptation is strong, genre fans should be happy enough. |

The slowness of the soap opera was its draw since so many soap operas gets the plot going too hastily at times. It actually got pretty decent reviews as a drama and I think its popularity speaks for itself.
I'm not a fan personally, but there is a long history of great Korean dramas out there. Soap operas are a much bigger business in South Korea than even United States. |

well making kdramas into anime isnt that bad because there are tons of mangas adaption in dramas, but consider this special case i find that the "4 seasons" kdrama serie isnt a very good choose, i mean the story is very very very sad...

Why of all the series that one? Or would it be too cliche to go for a show that has some pace in it and that's actually fun?
That aside it is good enough(if done right) to rank up with the better romance animes. I just was hoping for a better one. I don't get one thing though. Are they planning to let a korean guy voice a japanese student? Or is the actual anime taking place in korea and spoken in korean? If the korean guy is going to speak japanese it would make no sense to me? Smells like easy money making to me.Problem was that those drama's where so dramatic it felt so forced and fake I stopped caring for the characters. While I guess housewifes could get in it just fine, but I doubt the anime demografic will. |
