Woah so much... well I cant even find the words for it. Also remember that Touma would protect and keep mikoto away as much as he because of "Certain promese to Etzali".

So even if she can fight back, Touma would be his best to keep her away from harm and magic.

And yeah her railguns should be updated to at least mach 7 as default speed (but also she state a few times that her mach 3 coins are while holding back).

On another topic I like team Item a lot and thanks for those translations, and as people say even if Mikoto has fast attack, she lacks the response time of a saint.

You just got to learn to let things slide. Science fiction stories will alway have mistakes and impossibilities, imo the way to judge if a science fiction story should not be a test score or a checklist. It should be base on how well it attracts the reader's imagination- In that case, Toaru is a successful science fiction story.

Obviously you don't know Touma very well If a fight ever broke out between those two super powers, Kamijou Touma would be the first person running as fast as he can away from ground zero!

Technically, it IS reality warping... espers are overwriting what's 'real' using their personal reality to either completely replace it in a small area temporarily, or to mess with the laws of physics to allow them to do things.

That's from Volume 3 in the novels, where Komoe-sensei is explaining how espers work to Index as she went to eat at Komoe's place since Touma's out looking for Mikoto.
