episode 1:
sort of a grim first episode. It seems Himeno's mom died from too much work on making mugs? Maybe she was too obsessed in it, and the dad did not notice her health going bad. Setting aside the sad past. It's a nice start to the school.year, and those mugs are so colorful. :>

That's being completely unfair to Himeno, who's just started learning about pottery. Her failure was simply a sign that she's still a beginner and has a ways to go yet, being a narrative choice more than anything. I've noticed this to be a recurring trend in a lot of slice-of-life discussions: why do people feel compelled to criticise and "correct" what the characters are doing all the time?
