Fate/Zero is the first Nasuverse series for me(and I am going to start watching the anime of FSN and I am considering how I can get the VN that I hear is so superior to the anime version, but I digress). The idea of "origins" and "Mystic Codes" is really neat to me. Now I know that Kiritsugu's Origin is "severing and binding", but I am quite curious as to the Origins of the other 4th Holy Grail War Magi. Is there a source for that info?
For me, the heroic spirits of this war are certainly epic. Iskandar certainly steals almost every scene he's in, and I wonder how long before we see Iskandar/Clinton doujins out there. I would basically watch a spinoff of just Iskandar hanging out with Waver. Basically, I love how he's so manly that he doesn't need to hide his identity from the other Masters and Servants and how he seems to enjoy the small things like ordering a shirt from a shopping channel. |

As far as I known, only Kiritsugu and Shirou's (main character of F/SN) Origins have been revealed as far as the Fateverse goes.
The concept is a lot more prominent and relevant in another entry of the Nasuverse, Kara no Kyoukai, where some characters' Origins are an important plot point and represent a defining trait of theirs. So if you find the concept interesting, I recommend watching that (it's a series of seven movies and one OVA). |

You could try the Nasuverse wiki.
http://typemoon.wikia.com/wiki/Origin#Origin Spoilers abound of course. |

^ Thanks for answering that.
I really like how they are setting this up like a Shakespearean tragedy with noble heroes with a fatal flaw(Kariya is for sure a tragic hero), and how those in high standing fall very far(Kayneth losing his Magic Circuits which define him as a Magus). From the episode discussions, I was wondering if Tokiomi Tohsoka's goal of reaching Root(i.e Akasha) makes his beliefs mainstream for a Magus. Of course, for someone who seems to be very cautious and plans things out, I also wonder how much he knew about the Matous before he gave Sakura away to them. |

Matou Zouken has been around forever. Considering the ties between Tohsaka and Matou families, Tokiomi likely knows a few things about Zouken at least, such as his bugs. And since Tokiomi is an outstanding magus, he is likely aware that Sakura will have to endure a lot of pain to adapt to Matou's magic, but believes that it is worthwhile.

Most torrents have the English patch included, but if it doesn't you can get it here Mirror Moon. I also recommend trying the Tsukihime visual novel. It is older than Fate/Stay Night, but still very good. It does lack the visual spectacle of Fate/Stay Night, but it makes it up with its story (Best route order: Arcueid, Ciel, Akiha, Hisui, Kohaku ). For Kara no Kyoukai you should be aware that it is more or less a prototype for Tsukihime and Fate/Stay Night's characters and world. Like the main character of Kara no Kyoukai contradicts the main character of Tsukihime. You could also see it as being in flux with the Nasuverse. Here is a good site with more information about all of Type-Moon's products: http://www.tsukikan.com/index.html Last edited by chaos_alfa; 2011-12-06 at 11:10. |

Looks like Saber is going to have a male version. http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-new...mated-in-short
They should have totally changed his outfit - looks too much like he wears the female!Saber's gown.

Yeah technically it is the other way around but considering that Arturia was introduced in the official anime and manga first, I just feel like he's wearing her gown. Maybe it was a good thing that he became a she for the initial official release because the outfit would not have worked very well for him.

Of course, Arturia is my favorite take on "King Arthur" there is(and I am a big fan of the Disney classic Sword in the Stone). |

Can somebody please explain to me what gain could that useless Tohsaka father achieve by giving Sakura away? Besides potential giving Zouken a potential candidate for the next grail wars, why the heck did he agree?

It might be better if you ask this in the light novel thread. I'm not 100% sure whether or not light novel spoilers are allowed here. |

Overall though, Tokiomi Tohsaka is one of my least favorite of the F/Z cast(and I like all three of the F/SN heroines). |
