I have nothing against Teio but I'm just not feeling it.
It's a combination of various things. To start with, I think it was a mistake to start off with Teio already been at her peak. The journey from newbie to star is more interesting. The other thing this season is lacking is heart. In the first season the heart was the relationship between Spe and Suzuka, which was even more significant because those two were siblings in real life. These season is trying to set up something between Teio and McQueen but it's not even close to Spe and Suzuka. I'm gonna keep watching but my interest is low.

Lol, it's like "Hey PA, the series is popular enough now, so let's just take your assets and move to a cheaper animation company!"
Anyways, it wasn't really that bad of a start, even though I don't really care about horse racing and thus the story that much. Also, the CG was really really ugly. Any scene that used CG for more than a second stood out really badly.

Too bad she couldn't make it in time. It was a really close one. That race was just close enough to not give enough time to fully rehab and just far enough off to give the tantalizing chance of pulling it off.
My condolences to the girls who were able to take part in the race. No matter how fast they run, you can't outpace expectations. All the more so since the winner was the one who came in second to Teio in the previous race. The "if Teio had been able to race she would have won" will be the takeaway from this. Not their fault of course. They can't control who could and couldn't take part in this race anymore than they can control how people will view the results. At least all the hard work wasn't in vain. Teio couldn't make it for the race, but she is well into her recovery. And true enough she can still chase the goal of being undefeated. Definitely needed something to fuel her drive and keep pushing after such a brutal disappointment here.

RIP to poor Gold Ship's back. Of course at some point she should just say "you've nearly paralyzed me multiple times. Jump over a log!" Special Week is going to get someone killed with her food runs regardless though .
In the end I think Teio has this. While there's pressure on her, she seems to be having more fun with it. Fair point that McQueen got that focusing too much on her rival and not on the race itself could be problematic. Interesting interpretation on the hare vs tortoise situation. At least the feeling of this episode for me is that McQueen could be headed for a frustrating conclusion.

McQueen feels so much pressure because Teio is undefeated, but the truth is being undefeated doesn't mean shit. El Condor Pasa and Grass Wonder were undefeated too and Suzuka still kicked their butts to oblivion. lol
McQueen should forget about Teio and just focus on her own running.
