Kamisama Hajimemashita Season 2 [Anticipation]
A second season has been announced. Quote:
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news...-season/.77194 I am actually surprised tbh. It's been nearly two years since the show debuted. I do read the manga and it's a decent shoujo imo so I will be looking forward to it.

That being said - I am interested to know what material they will adapt and how faithful they will remain to s1.... My main criticism was s1 (as a dedicated manga follower) was that the material was adapted waaaaay too fast and too much was crammed together ... in my book this series is one of those that is excellent at "lingering", and the adaptation did not reflect that at all for me. This seems to be common enough these days, but I felt it very keenly here.

I wonder if Funimation has anything to do with this sequel getting made. American companies are increasingly getting involved in pre-production planning of anime. Kamisama Kiss is one of Funi's big products, probably its biggest in the shoujo category. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that Funi has promised money up front for a season 2. With a guaranteed American investment, average to low first season sales in Japan would not be such an impediment to a second season.
Well, I don't care who finances a second season. I'm just ecstatic that there will be a second season. Like Flower, I'm curious to what they'll adapt.

A second season of Kamisama Hajimemashita? This is a really delightful surprise .
I quite enjoyed the first series so I'm definitely happy to be getting another season! Looking forward to seeing the cast again and how Nanami and Tomeo's relationship will continue to develop .

I'm going to guess this will be a Winter show given the staff being revealed now. The casts return too in this sequel:

I just finished the first season and it was nice to marathon but I'm not so sure about following it weekly. I'm not familiar with the source material but I sure do hope this time around we get to see Nanami actually using/developing her powers.
