The film tells the story of a new transfer student interested in her surroundings, and a song that brings happiness to her and her classmates.

I finally saw this and am surprised more people aren't talking about it. The same director as Time of Eve and Patema Inverted (two amazing movies btw) doing another AI story but this time going all Disney about it? Not like I'm a bit disney fan but I had to give it a shot and boy was it worth it.

It's super cheesy but it works. The characters are easy to like, the story is very much by the numbers but it works and there's real soul in this. They could have toned down on repeating the same song a bunch of times though

Honestly anime movies in the last decade have been getting amazing haven't they?

I didn't know this as available. I'll try just about anything musical... and I didn't know it shared a director with Time of Eve. I'll give it a watch in the next day or two. Thanks for the reminder!

Ok... this was excellent! The movie was goofy fun, but also well written with tons of genuine emotional moments. The music was good. The visuals were good. The characters and story threads were good.

One thing that keeps coming back to me is this is what I wish the recent Belle had been. Belle had some good character moments and music... but its portrayal of technology issues didn't make a ton of sense and quickly fell flat, and its story wasn't super well written and for sure wrapped up poorly.

By contrast, Sing a bit of Harmony is very strong all the way through. I'd even say it is more visually compelling the Belle (which was a bit of a visual jumbled mess in some ways), and it gets both tech and story right seeing as it's from the creator of Time of Eve. No weak finishes here!

Maybe I'll toss in some spoilers later, there's some fun stuff to discuss, but for now, yeah... I'm very glad to have been reminded about this movie.

Watched it month ago, I think the story would work better in TV anime episodic format but Its still a nice one nonetheless.

Only near the end of the movie that I realized the main theme are basically inspired by Disney animation and songs.
