Heroine Tarumono! Kiraware Heroine to Naisho no O-Shigoto

The song "Heroine Tarumono!" by the Vocaloid creator unit HoneyWorks is inspiring a television anime which will premiere next April. The story of Heroine Tarumono! Kiraware Heroine to Naisho no O-Shigoto (To Become a Good Heroine! The Unpopular Girl and the Secret Job) follows Hiyori Suzumi, a high school girl who becomes a manager-in-training for the high school idol unit LIP×LIP.

Hiyori left her hometown to pursue her passion, track and field, by enrolling in Tokyo's Sakuragaoka High School. Looking for a part-time job in Tokyo, she ended up working as an apprentice manager for her classmates (and LIP×LIP members) Yūjirō Someya and Aizō Shibasaki. The story revolves around the coming-of-age of Hiyori (as she juggles school, extracurricular life, and managing) and LIP×LIP (as they shine on stage).

HoneyWorks is always great, so this should be something to look forward to. Kind of wish they'd also do an OVA based on Erande Kurete Arigatou (the follow-up to Hina and Kotarou's relationship set in their twenties).

I think it wasn't that bad, but it also didn't really stand out either. The heroine's voice was also a bit too loli, perhaps?
Also there is the problem of already too many anime in one day.

It would be weird if there existed a shoujo anime (since 2012 or so anyway) without Saori Hayami.

I have mixed feelings on HoneyWorks but this seems kind of fun so far. I'll probably stick with it unless it craters.

That heroine's personality was on the irritating side of the spectrum. Still, there's enough there (animation especially) to check out ep 2.

The ED was pretty decent.

I'm indecisive in this one. Looks pretty and I like the heroine and friends, but I'm not good with melodrama these days and those annoying shits idols are annoying. Maybe stick for next episode, maybe not, more probably not.

Not really interested in this show after seeing the OP (1 heroine + 2 main guys kind of impression and not really keen in that), but after 5 more minutes in, just before I was about to close the window, I heard a ridiculous number of A-tier veteran VAs and decided to stick around just a little longer because of that. And another 10 minutes, the list just kept swelling in an extravagant way. Got to wonder why. The 1st page of casting credits is just too bright!

I sort of like trashy shoujo as a guilty pleasure so I'll stick with it until it wears out its premise at least.

What kind of harem/love triangle is the girl supposed to have if not idols? WcDonalds employees?

I think I should clarify this.
You are not going to see harem or love triangle in this show.
The MC is not even going to run into her love interest in this show.
So those who is sick of romantic melodrama, have no fears.

That's good to know. I'm not exactly a fan of shoujo-centric love triangles (though there are exceptions). And if this were part of the show, it would make it less appealing to me. I'm really just watching for now because of the incredible casting. But after hearing this and reading the title again, it seems like this might be an interesting SoL story.

This aged like milk. End of episode 5 all but guarantees that we'll be entering into love triangle or love square territory soon.

I've read enough romcom and shoujo manga to know that Aizo (it's also a big red flag that she's the only girl he's comfortable being around and his brother already ships them lol) is kinda developing a soft spot for Hiyori and with the introduction of Nagisa (who I assume to be her osananajimi), we're in for some romantic melodrama.

I'm still not sure about Yujiro tho, so Idk if it'll turn into a love square, but the triangle is definitely forming.

Only in the minds of the boys. Hiyori clearly doesn't see any of them that way. I loved the way she just walked in on them in the showers and didn't give a crap.

The girl she rescued is obviously the sister of the actress. Otherwise, they wouldn't have told us they both have the "Narumi" family name.

And it's all well and good for Hiyori to dress up for a big concert, but I hope she goes back to her normal self once it's over.

Yeah but she seems to be an idol of some kind herself as well, she was on the big screen behind Hiyori in the next scene.

Fixed it for ya. I'm very certain we're going that route. Otherwise, what's the point of introducing the osananajimi? I'm pretty sure he's going to serve as motivation for the boys (Aizo moreso than Yujiro atm, I'm still not too clear on if he's actually interested in her yet) to make them conscious of Hiyori and start seeing her as a girl. Likewise, Hiyori would need some event on her end that makes her conscious of them too. We've already seen glimpses and the entirety of episode 6 was dedicated to her feeling insecure about her femininity. She just needs that last little nudge and she'll awaken to love.

She isn't totally oblivious to love either. We've seen her react to/blush towards the boys a couple times. Then there was that dream with her marrying them both. The foundations have already been laid, we're just waiting for them to pull the trigger.

^Not really excitement. More like making a prediction that at this point, is more than likely to occur. As for how close it is, I'd say it's much closer than you're implying it to be.

If I were to make an estimation of how close I think it is, I'd say within the next 2 episodes or so, we'd start seeing some clearer indications of romcom shenanigans.
