Another slow paced episode, and this time nothing interesting really happened. The only important scene was probably naruto splitting the waterfall, but even that scene was quite underwhelming.
The best thing about the episode is that they modified the OP to match the new arc, and it's fucking amazing. Too bad there is no way that fight will have that kind of animation quality in the actual episodes. Last edited by neshru; 2008-09-04 at 11:37. |

the could just use the opening animation withou the songs and the credits....
episode wasn't bad. fillers didn't seem misplaced either. i think it is in episodes like this we can see some real character development. we see how sakura is getting closer to naruto. how sai is becoming nicer, how asuma is trying to quit smoking(prob for kurenai). how sakura realizes how insignificant she is, but like sai said its the thought that counts everything seemed to fit for me. the only thing i did not like was naruto dreaming and saying sasuke's name, but alas it happens in the manga as well.

Well it does take a whole episode to cut that waterfall, but at least it got accomplished. At least we can work on the next technique for Naruto to spam now .
Well with the changes to the OP definitely realizing some suspicions that I had. Wish Asuma and Shikamaru a lot of luck. Though you put them up against guys that powerful and really it doesn't look promising. If the guess is right and Asuma's team runs into those guys the next episode will probably just set the fight up. So the week after next week should be a good episode . Spoiler for Speculation:

Well medicine in general has a reputation for tasting bad. Can't say as a fact since I rarely ever need medicine. But I'd expect they were being made correctly considering Sakura's skill in the medical field. She is a doctor not a chef after all . Though I do wonder if she tasted them first.

huh well i liked it? the scene with sakura looking back made me fell that she might be giving up on sasuke...and looking towards naruto...even though i dont like sakura to be with him it was still interesting to see...BTW im not a dedicated fan so that could be the reason why i liked it...i kinda watch it here and there...i know im bad for doing that

I actually liked some of the original stuff in this episode that wasn't in the manga. For instance am I correct in recalling that none of the sakura thinking about naruto and crying stuff was in the manga? I just remember it being her looking at the picture and crying with the night sky in the background. Wasn't that something that a lot of people argued about when the chapter came out? Was she crying over sasuke or naruto? Or just crying over how helpless she felt ? Either way, I'm a NarutoxSakura shipper so maybe i'm biased, but I liked the effort to make it seem more her feelings moving away from Sasuke and towards Naruto by the animation team. Whether or not they have some info from kishi we don't seems unlikely though, so it's probably just wishful thinking.

Yes, Sakura did cry in the manga, but she didnt made the soldier pills and she didnt talk with Iruka.
I think she was crying for how helpless she is for Naruto to recover Sasuke... crying for the old good times, but not for Naruto/Sasuke, she "loves" both as "Nakama". I'm a NaruSaku shipper too, but i cant forget that its not a "passional love" relationship. Spoiler for kakashi gaiden:
