Only thing I could think with Kazuma's eyes glowing orange like that was, 'oh shit!.' Things have only gotten more interesting with Kazuma's past being brought right into things. He seems to really have gone into that rage and who knows what he'll do. Any of those gamers getting in his way will no doubt be dead.

Nice to find out more about his past that's for sure. Subs will be handy of course in that. Of course you don't neeed much subbing to understand what was between the two of them. Losing her and now having her body as a tool for an enemy would no doubt be harsh.

Well next week will be big with things continuing. Kazuma on a rampage and of course Ayano working on the case. Plus that jerk Uzumi is back and we'd better hope nothing happens concerning Nanase.

Finally I understand some holes in my interpretation when i watched the raws, I am not that good with Japanese, still didnt stop me from really enjoying this show. Just like you said it is a very intense episode, for me it is by far the best, especially since it is finally showing Kazuma’s past. As for me, I am more of a fan of Rin than Ayano, since i would think, if Kazuma was still weak would Ayano even notice him? She didnt even remember him before and just regarded him as a weakling, for it is kinda of a childish crush or superficial love Ayano has for Kazuma, since she doesn’t really bother on trying to know him.

Also as i understood, Kazuma said that Rin accepted him and sees him as he really was, and that alone tilts the better one for Kazuma. Though i do as well like Ayano, since her character is unique and developed quite well throughout the episodes, but I see her just as Kazuma’s important partner, nothing more. So yes i kinda agree with you about Ayano being doomed for an unrequited love, but as it is that’s highly possible, though who knows in the future. Kazuma did say she might become a great woman in the future, maybe then can she truly love him, since i think that Ayano is still too immature in the present.

I still think Kazuma’s true love was and still is Tsou Rin, whether it was tragic and that it was Kazuma Kannagi who fell in love with her, since she was the reason why he became Kazuma Yagami.

I'm still at ep 18. I must say it's good to see Ren occasionally show that he knows how to be a man.
I had a feeling about Kanon, btw. Back when she asked him to go rest somewhere while walking home, "karaoke" did not strike me as the establishment she would petition. With the look in her eyes, I thought she was thinking more along the lines of an establishment where you actually pay for a "rest", but generally do anything but. Now she's getting even more direct, suggesting they go to the mall, the karaoke, or TO HER ROOM. As embarrassed as she acts, I get the feeling she was hoping he would take her up on the offer. For that matter, I suspect she'd literally jump at the first excuse to try and make the fire boy a fire man. Is she this bad in the novels, or did the anime producers decide to spice things up a bit?

Well I just think things happen and change. You really see the two different people that Kazuma is. Back in those days with Rin and who he is currently. Though obviously such a massive loss would drastically shift his character and goals. Really something to see him going from that much more cheerful guy to the sarcasm and now laden with those burdens.

Probably Ayano wouldn't have noticed Kazuma if we went to the current time period but he hadn't gone through such a loss that pushed him towards power. Simply because Ayano has changed and if the current Kazuma hadn't arrived she wouldn't be the same person she is now. While that might bother some people it doesn't change that I like Ayano and wouldn't mind her and Kazuma together.

As we know there would be nothing without Ayano knowing more about Kazuma. Now that she's gotten more insight we'll see how she moves and acts. It may not have come straight from Kazuma but its something. As Kazuma is getting to know him and getting in there is a challenge to be sure. Even Ren didn't know much of anything so I'm not holding it against Ayano for being in the dark. Simply Ayano has to do something and make an act that can help him before things can move from being simply work partners.

But for next week, here's hoping to see that Uzumi guy get beaten to a pulp.

Seeing Rin swings that big sword makes me wanna go . Ayano's tooth pick sword seems to be stronger but yeah, since it was a sword with magic . Anyways, looks like ep. 20 will bring even more excitement.

Yeah certainly she was swinging one massive blade to be sure. Well it wasn't a bad blade being able to absorb magic either. Fairly impressed though that Ayano handled herself even with her wanting Kazuma for backup. Held out well against heavy strikes and came up with the plan to overload the sword.

newcomer here. just wanted to stop by and mention about something i absolutely adored in episode nineteen. well, among other things.

i love how the ending theme song is changed back to what it was in the beginning of the series - the nighttime with the solitary and distant Kazuma (he was alone before, but shh), the clouds that are just passing by - just like how life goes and how he's dealt with his past by just pushing forward and overcoming the obstacles. the lyrics. ohh, the lyrics. the music itself - each note is just heartbreaking. and although i enjoyed the nice and light tone of the other song (lovely and delightful that it was, being all sung by Yukari, Nanase, and Ayano XD), i really do like they've restored this song just for the Lapis arc.

Certainly quite the change in Kazuma that we get to find out about. Going from that tortured guy who came in search of power to go home to a pretty satisfied guy. Living with Rin really had a huge impact on his personality. I guess finally finding acceptance gave him what he'd been lacking in his old life. Losing that rock and center of happiness really hurt him. Rushing for revenge and I guess gaining contractor powers for that purpose.

Am worried what he'll do now though. He's really snapped here and will have no issue crushing everything in his path. I feel bad for those people (except Uzumi) who got class change. With those red eyes doesn't seem like he'll have much else in his mind.

Shouldn't it be blue, since he's a wind contractor, or is he just getting more powerful?
Maybe it's just for appearance.

I think it's all about madness and rage. The point is that contractor powers are blue and his normal eyes, but this is a shift. Probably showing the crazy rage and hatred the searching for revenge. Believe it's just a reflection of his instability right now.
