So I watched it once, was getting into it. Got lots of questions about this anime now.
I watched it again, I was thinking more about other animes by Kyoto, then I started comparing characters to other characters, I ended up liking it more cause of that.

Ugh, Nagisa's character voice sounds like a total amateur. Is there any hope for her getting replaced? We're in for a long road if we have to put up with that for the full twenty four run.

No, she is not. Her seiyuu is Nakahara Mai, and has quite a few characters behind her belt. I don't know why you dislike her, but i find her portrayal of Nagisa's shy and timid personality quite appealing and well done.

Actually yes. She reminded me of both Shiori and Ayu at that part.

Really? I actually find it just as enjoyable as some of the other voice actors, if not more. It perfectly fits her character, and I don't have that "amateur" feeling that you seem to get.

She is also Tokiha Mai in both My-HiME and My-OTOME, so I dunno what you mean by "sounds like a total amateur". I found that her voicing of Nagisa was perfect for her character. Very cute I have to admit too.

I'm surprised Ryuuguu Reina's actress is portraying Nagisa, but at the same time it doesn't shock me that her performance in this show might not be as good as in other ones. Hoshi Souichirou sucked arse in Higurashi and SEED, but he was fan-fudging-tastic in Ever17 as Kuranari Takeshi.

Now that episode two's out, here's hoping Nakahara has improved.

It's a little late, but was there a reason for the "Goo!" dinner scene, or is Nagisa's family just crazy like that?

And then I read in the thread that Ryou wasn't a path in the game.

Of course, I didn't have much hope due to the OP, but one can always dream. Favorite girl so far. "Don't worry, I'm not crying."

Nagisa's giving me mixed signals. I thought she was going to be the ghost girl, but she has a family... but she's appearing in dream worlds and threatening to... take the main lead home at the very end (Rena's VA? Heh.).

Geez, Nagisa is 1 year older than Tomoya. Pedophilia is not even in the equation.

I really loved the first episode. My favorite part was the beginning where it fades to color. Nice direction there imo. A shame it's not wide screen.

Method to fade monochrome to color is same as Haruhi epi.2 and it fade when main heroine finish her speech too, not to mention main protagonist show what his thought in the beginning. Then even i never known about 'clannad' before ... i can guess who is who.

That's because they have no fricking clue what the word even means (medically/legally speaking) -- i.e. they're misusing the word. They're also demonstrating they're unfamiliar with japanese character types and they are unaware that many japanese women simply have those characteristics, whatever their age.

I hope that is clear enough. There's really no excuse anymore for them being so fundamentally misinformed.
