I'm looking forward to whatever he'll score next. Hm...Naoki Sato writes wonderful original scores too, especially his work for Heroic Age and Sword of the Stranger is recommendable to listen outside of the anime...if you're into orchestral. Although the latter did suprise me, a samurai movie with celtic-influenced music? Well, okay...'_' |

Hmmm.... Assuming you mean the music as a whole, including OP, ED and score, I'd have to say that Maison Ikkoku has to be high up there near the top.
Space Battleship Yamato too (all though it's been a long time, so my memory might be playing tricks on me) I thought Ah My Goddess was good. Of the new anime, I think it's to early to be sure, but I like music for Cross Game so far I think Soul Eater was also decent. Maison Ikkoku is what I'd check out first though |

Just finished writing my review of Red Garden's soundtrack. Took me a few listens, but I think I was fairly happy with the grade I gave it since this soundtrack had no weak spots. At all. Definitely one I'd highly recommend.

Escaflowne and Ghost in the Shell are quite possibly my two overall favorite OSTs, so I guess just basically anything by Yoko Kanno is guarenteed to be amazing.
Other honorable mentions go to: Death Note Fullmetal Alchemist (first series, Brotherhood so far hasn't been as impressive in that department) Haibane Renmei Honey and Clover Mushishi Rurouni Kenshin (TV series + OVAs) Welcome to the NHK (fits the mood and setting of the show so goddamn perfectly) Wolf's Rain (easily the best part of the show, and again, Yoko Kanno) |

yeah Clannad has super awesome soundtracks....each soundtrack in the 3 osts
are meaty and well composed. The more noticeable ones are Roaring tides..shining in the sky...Town, Flow of time and Distant years and there are 2 pretty awesome image albums accompanying clannad too Fate stay night has nice tracks too erm..burst angel may be considered as a 'fail-anime' but its ost album is quite good. the 4 gundam 00 ost albums are also masterpieces!(As expected of kawai Kenji) and the transition between each track is smooth... like in Gundam 00 ost2.. track 21 Love Song is followed by track 22 Separation. The tracks have a similar melody but Separation has a slight twist to it that exudes mournfulness . |
