Interesting how Mononobe says he's figured out the identity of 9 other Selecao, which means he's left out 2, including #12, the suspected Supporter or even Mr Outside.
Not only did #12 sabotage on Mononobe's champagne, he's probably also the one who sent the NEET container ship back to Toyosu. The receptionist lady who sounded like Juiz at the end is somehow connected to the game, but is not Juiz herself. It's more likely she provided the voice for the AI that is Juiz. The reason behind why those NEETs betrayed Akira, leading him to erase his memory, is frustratingly left out. Though it seems both Saki and Mikuru has heard it. |

Like I said Juiz (Judge in Portuguese) is closer to the role of the referee.

Hmm... As far as soccer references goes, the "12th player" in a soccer game is the crowd. |

I was a little disappointed when Mr. Outside ended being a boring revelation of an old man who really just wanted to save Japan and is already dead. But now that there's a slight chance of Mr. Outside being number XII, or just alive in general... I can see a few more big plot twists coming. A shame that Akira probably won't punch the old fool anymore, which was what I wanted to see more than anything.
My only only only complaint about this episode and the series in general... is that the last episode is next week, and they'll probably leave us hanging with a huge cliffhanger. I'm still hoping we'll catch a glimpse of the remaining unrevealed Selecao, but as of right now I don't think any of them can match up to the gnarliness of II. Oh yes, and the music was indeed quite beautiful this episode.

In Japan, the English term "supporter" is used for fans of a soccer team.

And probably so are many Japanese people. It's just that it's "wrong" to accept such feelings (because it partly means going against oneself, and what one represents, etc). The contradictions of the capitalist society! This is charming.

I can't tell for sure why Saki said that, but I can understand why someone would.
There is a growing hate and disappointment towards society and the world in general. The constant report of all the evil that happen in the world (war, crisis, fraud, corruption, criminality, pollution). I can hear more and more people making statements like "humanity will soon go extinct", and I somehow can sense that they are hoping for that to happen. Just look at seven (the movie) and how the world is perceived by the main characters: "This world is so ugly to live in I think giving birth to a new life is cruel." But I don't even need to look at the present situation, a few decades ago someone said: "We will glorify war - the world's only hygien" I think number X thinks the same. The world is corrupt, a war will cleanse it. It's funny how those people can't see the inner contradiction.

In a way, it reminds me of 9/11 (which was also mentioned early in the series). |

This was a very interesting episode--I kept waiting for mononobe to turn out to be lying or try to kill Akira, but he did nothing--he just told him and let him go. I see that it is possible Akira sent away those neets to protect them from people who wanted to kill them; but now they are back and flooding the mall. When Akira didn't board the train, I really thought he was going back to Itazu; but of course that didn't happen. And Itazu did apparently betray Akira anyway by uploading all that data to Eden. It was nice that Saki finally came clean, was honest and thereby learned the truth.
When is this move coming out? Have they already made it? Is it actually going to be in theatres in Japan? |

This was by far the best episode of the series. A complete information dump but still managing to hide and pose new questions for the last episode and movie. I just hope they manage to fit it all in.

It sounds like Saki is better acquainted with Johnny than we know!
