Merged with the "Post Your Desktop" thread mentioned several times already.

Lol! Instead of throwing them into the bin, select them all, hold down the shift key and then press delete. (Keep the shift key depressed until the delete confirmation dialog comes up). This will skip the recycling bin

Generally, yah... Whenever I see animated screens of Macs, I love the buttons... they seem to be animated with a glow or something! Granted, something like that would probably eat my processor for lunch.. but it still looks nifty imo...

Though, if you really try hard, and get the right software, you can get a PC looking pretty good too. I guess stuff like Window Blinds/LiteStep/Aston shell for Windows.. and then fvwm2 does a pretty good job for *nix (or of course you could just write your own WM from scratch..).

Macs are awesome computers... in fact, one could argue that it's the only real computer out in the market... the only thing that irritates me about macs (osx)... is that when you have many windows open it gets too cluttered... I do like the part when you move your mouse to the bottom left corner and it sorta thumbnails all the open windows for easier navigation... I'll be damned before I learn all the hotkeys... I prefer a task bar... but maybe I've been conditioned by microsoft...

Not trying to stir up debate, but just leave a note that some may find useful..

I don't know about Windows, but there have been attempts to recreate this feature for PCs (which use the X11 window system). Skippy is one of them.

My desktop doesn't have a taskbar... took a while to get used to not having one indeed, but I think I'm okay now... If you look at some of my more recent screenshots, minimized windows become thumbnails on the desktop. Sorta like the Mac's Expose feature.. but not really.. I have skippy as well, but actually don't find myself using it that much..

Cough PC VS MaC Cough.
Feel free to start one. I've never met a modern Mac that "switched itself off." As to them only being better looking... Yeah, different thread. I'll meet you there.

Definitely need those icons, but it looks like Ke0 isn't watching this thread anymore. Time to PM I guess.

Yeah. Same here. When I first started using Linux I had to have a taskbar, start menu, etc so I had KDE, then went to Windowmaker and I think I've finally settled on Enlightenment.

Mine iconify to and sit in a little iconbox, but usually I just double click my title bar on a given window and all of the window disappears into the title bar just leaving a horizontal bar with the name. I like that best.

You are desappointing me
It's a wallpaper based on the game 魔女っ娘ア・ラ・モード
As for the Windows question, it's French Windows XP, not 98.
But I never liked the Windows XP Skin, so I keep it like this.
