Games Workshop make one standardised set of nippers; the 'Citadel Tools Plastic Cutters'. I assume Appel's referring to those.

I use the GW craft knife to cut parts off the frame and trim down the nubs. For some reason, rubbing my thumb repeatedly over the pale spot where the plastic was trimmed causes it to fade back to pretty much the same colour. Either I have a magical power, or everyone can do this.
At any rate, I usually wind up entirely painting my kits anyway, so that's just for the interim where they're displayed unpainted.

neat. i like the AGE-1 already^^
but since the show is obviously aimed at a younger audience (probably elementary school and middle school students) i wonder whether they will even bother making a MG version or whether they will just go with a ton of HG and NG kits and a ton of action figures. |

I'm in favour of AGE's look too. Nothing wrong with a neat, clean, basic-looking Gundam. I agree, there's elements of V in there, and it also reminds me somewhat of Beginning [particularly the shield].
Though bear in mind, they've probably got a little way to go yet before those turn into the final designs. So I expect they'll tidy them up a bit, maybe tweak and streamline a few things, before we get the HGs. It's possible AGE might get a Master Grade [maybe with the add-on parts a la the Sword/Launcher Strike], but beyond that, this line'll probably be riding mostly on the HGs. Still, I'm hopeful for some pretty good quality kits; HGs have been really good lately.
