Maybe this series won't have one.

I'm hoping we get a maniacal ace that loves to fight in the mold of Yazan and Ali.

I wouldn't hold my breath on that much tbh, but I'd love if it does break the ''masked character'' mold for a bit. And having more people like Ali would be interesting as well (though would they fit in?)

BTW, I had been thinking about this, and now from the early info that Frit appears to be an only child ... but what about the other two?

I mean Nightingale sort of brought this up earlier with the ''succession rights'', but what if Asemu and Kio had brothers and sisters, both younger and/or older. The dynamics of the relationship they have, how they feel, hell what if they weren't the ones meant to inherent the Gundam, but had obtained it through accident or even the good old Gundam jacking?

Honestly, I'm really interested where they go with this 3-Generation story-line, there is a lot of potential for some really cool and new story-lines to be explored here, and I do hope that they take chances with it.

I mean I'll but aside for a minute here my distrust of Level-5 in the story-telling department if the plot goes down the originality path.

Who knows, maybe he'll even pilot a red UE. One that is three times faster than the other UEs of course.

I'm expecting Gundam AGE to be something like this:

Also, the opening segment of the game is really cool, and great animation if you ask me.

Uh where was it "confirmed" to be 50 episodes? I don't recall seeing anything in the press release.

Perhaps the meaning of existence lies within their will to fight.
People feel a sense of accomplishment through battle.
And its also a fact that the ones actually fighting are never perceived as being tainted.

I checked the past pages, and it's not confirmed from the link. Looks like my screw up, sorry.

I saw a comment on youtube that went like this:

"WOW. more like gundam UNDERage"

I chuckled. Though I don't mean to bring up the debate about his age again. =/

Does it mean they want to see some pensioner operating Mobile Suits? I have to say it sound interesting, but the most the screen time would be lost due to morning/midday/evening naps, toilet breaks aso. I know japan is aging, but still i think it is the kids who buy anime, manga and model kits.

It was confirmed at the press conference. They said the broadcast would be a year long i.e. 50 eps. I posted that link to yaraon which had the 2ch live event thread pasted on it.

A year long broadcast doesn't always constitute 50 episodes. None of the other major Japanese news blogs reiterate this information either, so saying 50 episodes is rather preemptive.

Question

The 3-Generations "saga" sounds interesting, but it got me thinking... will it apply to the enemy as well? Or will the enemy be some sort of "ageless" entity?

Cheers.

This seriously looks to be a repeat of G-Gundam style storytelling and mecha design.

Way, way too soon to even say that. The only similarity to G-Gundam we've seen is the Titus.

AGE-1 "evolving" into its different forms (as hinted at in the trailer) seems rather G Gundam like.

I don't recall G Gundam evolving into different forms. The closest comparison I can think of in recent memory is the Force Impulse Gundam from GSD.

Three generations, each Asuno kid gets 10 episodes.

10, 20, 30.

Maybe it'll be 30 episodes?

I am referring to AGE-1 "morphing" into its different forms. In G Gundam, the Devil Gundam does that, as do the 4 Heavenly Kings.

Unlike the Impulse, AGE's normal form doesn't equip packs or armors to change into the Titus and Sparrow forms, instead its arms and legs seem to just change... That's not very typical in Gundam.

---

EDIT - BTW this is old - but I don't think its been posted. The official English press release is here http://en.gundam.info/topic/5610

Its got the official spelling of the characters' names, ie, "Flit Asuno", and not Frit or Frite or whatever that's out there

Also, its got this line -
Quote:
According to Sunrise Managing Director Yasuo Miyakawa, this series's theme will be "three generations". A first for Gundam, the hero will mature, have children, and the story will follow his son and then his grandson. Both adults and children will be able to enjoy this century-spanning epic story illustrating the protagonists' maturation and the inevitable differences between generations.
