It could be cute, maybe? I dunno what Kasarinchu's HighHighHigh will sound like, but sometimes it's the music that makes something like Gekidan Inu Curry's stuff creepy or sweet, depending. Then again, Manabi Straight had a fairly peppy, sweet ED song and the claymation was still kind of creepy. I kind of expect something more like that or the Eden of the East ED than any of the Shaft ones... still with the unusual animation that they do. Maybe it'll be more like a 6-year-old's drawings? |

I loved the look of the episode. By that I mean, I liked that the artwork looked like it was either done in watercolors or perhaps with crayons or colored pencils. The characterizations were spot on. A very good start for a series I have high expectations for.

Let's all admit it. No one wants to watch a show about raising a kid if they're your typical whiny, snot-nosed, unreasonable brat (as many of us were). |

The first episode was godly. Just that. The artistic direction, the music, the directing, the deeply touching atmosphere, the adorable loli,... everything was perfectly suited for my tastes.
I actually had little to no idea what I was going to watch, I simply picked it up because it's a Noitamina show, and I've been watching them religiously for years. I was surprised the little girl turned out to the grandpa's kid, and the first thoughts that crossed my mind were exactly the same as that of Daisuke upon hearing this: she's his mom's sister and his aunt! I like that guy already. Rin was incredibly adorable, I think I've found Erio's rightful successor. So HNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGG I think like this show is going to be a more serious and even more heartwarming Yotsuba&, in which case, I am going to love every second of it. Quote:

And just for the record, I was more of Rin's type~

Such a beautiful first episode, and a perfect adaptation of the manga. Especially that music placement, which really brought out the emotion for those key scenes.
I've only read three volumes of the manga released by yenpress, though i've kinda heard what happens in the second half, so it'll be interesting to see what this adaptation will do.
