I was surprised to realize the position of the Shogi on the TV screen in the third part has been taken from the actual game between Habu vs Sato, which aired as NHK Shogi Tournament on Feb. 20, 2011. The last move of G-9f on display is considered one of the legendary sacrifices Habu made.

The car segment was pretty good. I like how it shows how Takeru is a kid. Even though I feel he's 'younger' than Ika Musume in age, but he's more mature.
Tanabana was okay, best was Kiyomi's wish that she didn't want anyone to see. The 3rd segment is actually kind of depressing if you look at the hints. Everyone has their own lives and jobs to do with school and whatnot, Ika Musume is living with them, but she's left alone most of the time with no friends, so she has to entertain herself. Its like the early episodes of S1. Where you find out after work, they just lock Ika Musume in the store with no food, and no way to entertain herself. They eventually let her live with them, but for a good while, she was just 'locked in a cage' after-store hours.

Well you know, I don't see it quite so grimly. Ika works at Lemon during the day a lot of the time, first of all. Second, apart from going to school - and I still wonder if we might see that happen sooner or later - she's pretty much like another sibling at this point. I think what you're seeing is that Ika and Takeru are the ones who are getting closer and closer as the series progresses, partly no doubt to the fact that she's emotionally immature and so new to the human race.
I do agree that the scene at the park was subtly depressing. Who's going to be at a park in the middle of the day, first of all? You might see moms with babies and kids off school, but they didn't focus on them - it was lone drinkers and Ant-taro...

If in season 1 Takeru felt like a pre-harem MC this season his pals are those fanboys of his Ika-neesan. Ika is popular now with the elementary boys crowd and the middle schoolgirl crowd. |

Whatever happened to Tanabe Kozue, the possible octopus girl? She just appears randomly in the last episode of the last season, and she is no where to be found this season. I thought she was going to be part of the cast from her appearance last season.

Ika With a Question Mark 06 - If You Meet the Buddha in the Road, He'll Kill You
The first segment was pretty good. Ika's idea of a Buddha Golem was amusing, as was when she started checking herself to see if she had an "entrance". The second segment, with Sanae the SP, was the most slapsticky of the three by far. Sanae carried the whole sketch by herself, and did a pretty good job of doing so. I don't think I've ever seen a secret serviceperson fall for their own traps before. The third segment, with the Return of the Adventures of Mini Ika, was simply charming. The dialogue, the music, the situations. It all felt very fantastical. Great job to the producers for pulling that off a second time. |

The Great Buddha of Kamakura
Kamakura seems like a very nice place to visit. I am planning to visit there alone next year. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kamakur...mous_locations |
