@ Eratas: So each of the protagonists has a certain theme keeping them from moving on:
Ichika - Redemption Kyuukai - Honor Irish - Vengance And until they overcome these things, they won't be able to move on, right? How do you think Ichika would redeem himself in the future, and move on? Same about Irish, and Kyuukai? I'm betting the final battle has a big revelations moment. |

We're talking about a machine who's comprised of billions of nanomachine.
Yes, but you can use the reason that it's purely USA's invention, not stolen from other country. It makes much more sense than having them observe from combat data, like saying USA can copy a MiG or Sukhoi based on various engagement.

@ Rain - The first one would be the destruction of their main tools (Byaku shiki, Reapers sonata and Skull suit) which is the main thing binding them.
The most important one is the LI's though. So far, they've been living life following their ideals and how to do them. Their romantic partner proves to be just as important as those flawed viewpoints and they're willing to let go of their obsession in order to be happy with them. The final battle and the moments leading up to it are the parts that they see what's more important to them: Following their flawed ideals or living for themselves and being happy. Irish's case is regaining his will to live and fear of death since he doesn't want to lose his connections while Ichika's is knowing that his friends want to see him for who he is, not the hero he aants himself to be. Do you have a suggestion for Kyuukai?

On the subject of breasts a few pages back, it's not at all impossible to achieve Charlotte's size at that age, I know 14 year old girls who are much shorter than the cast but manage to get close to that size.
Not Houki or Tatenashi's though, that's a bit...

@ Blitz - I'm keeping her as an option, Ichika really isn't her brother in the traditional sense.
@ Rain - No suggestions for Kyuukai's revelation? @ Box - Why do you think Irish calls her a cow? It's pretty accurate for him.

@ Eratas: I've got two ideas, drafted up for the end of HotM. You could use them.
First one, after the final battle and Laura graduates: Kyuukai takes Laura to meet his father. Basically, visit his father's grave, having never set foot there for the last 3 years. He's a man now, 20 years old. He talks about his life over the past three years, explaining everything he's felt, the people he's met, the experiences he shared. And he introduces Laura. He tells everything he feels about her, everything they've done to gether, tells him how much he loves her, how much she means to him. And after all's said and done... He presents Laura with an engagement ring. She says yes. Second one, before the final battle: Kyuukai's getting ready to go fight. After packing up, and having his night with Laura, he's left with Tabane. They talk, they say goodbye. She leaves with Koyomi. Laura visits him, they talk. Selvaria enters the room, lingering in the corner without them noticing. She listens in to what he says to her daughter (if their relationship is the same as HotM). He proposes. She accepts. And her daughter tells him one shocking thing. Spoiler for Spoilers! WARNING! SPOILERS!:
Kyuukai's revelation happens in both. He realizes what he has isn't worth risking on a gamble. So after the final battle, he's stepping down. And he's going to live his new life. No more battles, no more pain. But then again, he realizes. It was all worth it to get him where he is now. I'm personally planning to use the second one as the ending. |

@ Rain - I'll use the grave scene then. He'll realize that no matter how much heroics he does, it won't help Laura any if he ends up as a cold body underground so he makes the last operation the final one before moving on with his life and telling his dad goodbye.
I have to meet my friends, so I'll be gone for about an hour or so. See you later/tom (depending if you're still awake)

~~~IS-Type Magazine~~~
The DSN Copernicus was a special ship built by Prof Thongudompen to compliment the Vandam Joaquim and the other MPIS which were being brought in to the Foundation. It was designed to be multi-role, combining submarine, carrier, gunship, and close ground support. This complexity proved to be its downfall, as by the time the Professor completed it, the Caliphate had been all but crushed. Its only role during the campaign against terror was helping ragged DART forces chase down the last of the nuclear devices launched by Imam Arizallah. Being made almost entirely of IS-derived technology, the Copernicus was to be transferred to the ISA after the war, where further refinement of the ship was to be undertaken. However, the fleet escorting it was ambushed by an unnamed battle group which intel believe provided the Caliphate with their monstrous Chastity Engines. The entire DART task force was sunk within minutes. To prevent the Copernicus from falling in to enemy hands, the mortally wounded Prof sunk his ship together with his new Vandam I, taking with him to the bottom of the Pacific. The ship is said to resemble a "flying dwarf torso". The bridge and sensor mast form the "head" which is sunk into the "chest" behind a pair of battleship guns. If one would take mecha shoulders, mount 3 guns on the top of each, then fold it such that the veniers point backwards, that forms the port and starboard artillery sections. Numerous smaller AA guns dot the hull of these sections, providing 360 degree bullet shield coverage. The "backpack" is the long fuselage stretching backwards with a flat top for the flight deck. The "pelvis" houses the main levitation and propulsion systems. It cannot land, but instead splashes down and berths like a ship. If it helps, imagine the Macross Quarter stripped of the BASTER-L, BASTER-R, Macross weapons, arms and legs, leaving just the torso, then modify the back such that it becomes a flight deck. This gives a rough idea of what it looks like. The deck layout is based on the Silvius, which can be found here: http://www.lastexile-fam.com/mecha.html
Anyway Meister, do you know how A.I.A. (Active Inertial Amplifier) would work in I.S.-verse? Also @ Rain, my question.
