Looks like the first theatrical event has been dated for August 4. No other details yet. |

And it seems Anna is her childhood friend, and some sort of crazy genius who single-handedly designed the Alexander. And what's a civilian Neuroscientist doing in the cast? That's a rather strange job description in a mecha anime. Is Sophie studying Geass? Who knows, but that's my guess.

This is sort of a Code Geass trademark. The idea is to have individuals fighting against their own people. It makes it more interesting, as otherwise you just have plain old factions. Lulu did it first.

Maybe he is a half-Japanese, half-Chinese relative of Akito, who became a (Honorary?) Britannian by, for example, betraying Japan during the invasion?
It also seems like they're spelling his first name as Shin, actually, going by the website. In any case, the rest of the information is pretty interesting. I don't particular like "genius" child characters like Anna though, but we'll see what they do with that. The brain scientist is probably either related to monitoring her, studying Geass or both. Yeah I know the jpg says Shin. The entire name is really confusing because Shin would be a Japanese reading while Xing would be a Chinese reading, but Hyuuga is definitely Japanese, and Shing is definitely Chinese.
..... Man, I think I have probably put more thought into this than the creators did while naming the character. :P |

That's the thing. The Neuroscientist is introduced by being hired to study the genius girl. But it is obvious to me they just needed her in the story because they would eventually discover Geass mid-story, and needed her around to coincidentally be available to research it.

Which isn't a bad idea, considering we never had any scientific explanation for Geass. Very little attention was given to the "Code-R" research under Clovis, even before Lelouch just went and killed everyone involved during the attack on the Geass cult. |

I did find out that Lilya got her position as officer fair-and-square by being an outstanding performer in the military academy. That the main cast are based in an old castle, and that their commanding officer is born and raised in Europe but of Japanese heritage. The genius girl who designed Alexander is physically frail. Team W-0 was formed for one reason only; the EU needed someone to do the outrageous, dangerous, and impossible missions. The chance of survival is so low, that they are not willing to commit their most important soldiers. So they sent those who are disposable; Japanese expats who are disrespected by the European military, who were born into a world where they no longer have a homeland. i.e. like the Polish in real life WWII. The W-0 doesn't technically exist; mostly because if they failed and died, the EU can just deny there ever was such a group. Oh, and when CLAMP was designing their uniforms, CLAMP they based their inspiration on the Kamikaze pilot suits of WWII. Don't know how much of that remained after re-design.
