Secondo me... Monthly mangas aren't there only because their drawing quality needs that much more time to be created, but also sometimes because of the philosophy of creating complete and decent story. That means, they are not trying win title of badassery in every single episode and kiss readers' asses that much, but rather create a story that will amaze by its storytelling quality when readed right trough.

Berserk, Vinland Saga and rest of the kind are good and will stay good, but you can't espect the story to have no dull moments, because these stories are more like books than movies. LOTR the book has totally diffent pace than LOTR the movie, for obvious reasons.

Let's say that publishing while creating is not convient for storytelling. it's harmful for story management and pace difficult for readers to follow. While long complicated story would need an intensive frequency of episodes, it needs long time to be created. Then we have simple gag based stories that are so easy to make, that they have to add fillings to make last longer.

I reccommend to drop series that are getting on nerves and try them again next year. People who order the magazine are paying the show for us anyways. Actually one good way is to wait complete arch to be published as album and suggest it to public library near you and read it there at once.

hmm i think after this Gardar will become Ketil's man (or slave), as his wife will suggest..
so we will have 4 very capable warriors in Thorfinn, Thorgil, Snake and Gardar stand againts Canute's army, and it will be very fun to watch lol

i actually kinda liked this whole "farmland saga" thing. it was a nice breather from all that violence and we got to see thorfinn finally grow up. so i think this arc is essential to the story. not to mention that ketil's farm will be right smack in the middle of another political battle. it's not as if thorfinn was thrown into slavery and farming for nothing. i admit that there were some dragging moments and really boring chapters but i kinda liked the characters that were introduced in this arc, most especially snake and the old master.

i am excited to get to the next chapter though. thorfinn versus snake should be plenty interesting. and then there's canute launching an invasion of ketil farm. i want to see thorfinn and canute's expressions when they see each other again after 3 years.

While Ketil and his sons escape thanks to Leif, Canute is preparing to mobilize his troops to the Ketil farms which include his royal guards and the Jomsvikings, making them about 102 elites soldiers. Look like there will be action in the next chapter! __________________

Meanwhile, Arneis and Einar do chores at the farm while Thorfinn is listening to Snake reading the Bible to Ketil's father particular the part about loving your neighbor and enemy. (Snake is translating Latin to Danish but the scanlated English is definitely based on the King James version) Snake finds the part he's reading boring and would prefer reading the early parts of the bible (aka the ones with violence, lol). While Snake think the old man will be dying soon, the escape slave suddenly arrives on horseback trying to escape from the men who found him earlier. Arneis recognizes the slave as Gardar as Arneis is Gardar's wife! __________________

But before she explains what happen to their child, Snake arrives. Thinking that Snake might be Ketil, he tries to kill him while one of Snake's men carry Arneis away from Gardar. Watching this, Einar wants to help free Arneis and reunite her with her husband but Thorfinn stops him, telling why he can't kill. Noticing that Gardar is injured, Snake hits his injury and subduing him. __________________

Later at Ketil's father's home, Einar decides to rescue Gardar since it's the right thing but Arneis tells him not to since she doesn't care about Gardar anymore over what happen in the past. In the past, Gardar and Arneis lived near a village that was neither poor or rich with their son. But one day, the men of the village got involved in a conflict over an area rich with iron which had huge rewards if they win. While most of the village women felt it was unnecessary to get involve since they have enough iron for their village, Gardar and the men joined the conflict, hoping to get rich. Because of their greed, their village was attacked by rival vikings who killed the old and sold the women to slavery which Arneis's son was taken away from her since female slaves sell more if they have no children. This is why she doesn't want to see Gardar as she blames him for what happen to their village and their son. Furthermore, Arneis is comfortable with her life on Ketil's farm and doesn't want Gardar to ruin it since she's now pregnant with Ketil's child which Ketil will gladly accept since he wants another child. Hearing her story, Einar decide to not do it. But later that night, Arneis tries to sneak out to mend Gardar's wounds but is caught by Ketil's father. Understanding why she's doing it, he allows her to meet her former husband. __________________
