I have to admit - Seeing a picture of these two characters right after a debate over yuri in Love Live! is pretty hilarious to me.
If the timing is intentional on your part, good sir, then all I can is well-played. The picture itself is beautiful, in any event. Kotori would make a great wife for Honoka.

Undeniably there are yuri elements, and it's like a norm in anime series nowadays. Which makes there are numerous "pseudo-yuri" series out there in this forum, but they don't have the "yuri" tag. Vividred Operation is the example.

ah yes... it's Dengeki G's Festival Vol 29 front cover if I remember it correctly... damn! I want the bonus so badly. But no money *coughswimsuitKotoritapestrycough*
and talking about the 'yuri' thing, I think it's better to ignore it rather than causing fuss between people. It's internet after all, seeing what we dislike or hate is unavoidable. So, like Ryonea said, let's not prolong the thing anymore... guess I'll leave these here... Spoiler for Hail the Empress :

There's a Love Live! fanfic idea I've been considering for awhile now, but only recently felt up to giving it a shot.
I call it "Lovely Dreams, Lively Passions" to build off of the name of the show itself. The fanfic is a Honoka/Eri yuri-fic. Chapter 1 is here. I hope my fellow Love Live! fans enjoy it! Any and all feedback is welcomed. The fanfic is in progress, so suggestions/ideas are welcomed.

Surpassing the Love of Men: Romantic Friendship and Love Between Women from the Renaissance to the Present by Lillian Faderman and Passionate Friendship: The Aesthetics of Girls' Culture in Japan Historically both the English-speaking "western" culture and and Japan have had same-sex relationships between women which were not clearly sexually explicit, but were nevertheless emotionally quite serious and romantic. Subsequent reinterpretation of this history in the eyes of sex researchers, Nazis, moral crusaders, lesbian feminists, fan boys and fan girls of various persuasions has tended to yield results colored by the eyes of the beholder. I would say there are both common features and important differences between how, say the, USA or England, and Japan, represent and "code" same-sex relationships in fiction and in real-life. Making very broad generalizations, I'd say that Japanese fiction has been more open to representation of same-sex relationships, while real-life tolerance of adult same sex-relationships has been less than in the west. But, taking this back to the immediate context, the expectation that girls will go through a period of same-sex akogare (admiration), especially in the context of senpai/koihai relationships is still widely held in Japanese society, and certainly has been true for much of the history of Japanese anime. The fact that present day fandom is a little less restrained is again a comment on the parties involved. I wouldn't expect we can clearly draw a line between normal and abnormal, implied and explicit relationships that everyone will understand and agree with cross-culturally. As others have observed this is an all-girls school, which is a different environment for same sex relationships than society at larger. It may be argued that the majority of the plot of Love Live is about the relationships between the characters. The story so far has been about collecting an ideal set of idols and their fans from this close-knit community. Saving the school is the nominal reason, but the story is about the process of getting there and what moves the characters to join the idol group (and/or fans).

Just to add to that.
In Greek times, when Democracy was being established, the politicians would search far and wide for "beautiful boys" across the lands to be their personal assistants during work related stuff and other things. In the coliseum the warriors would fight naked too. Alexander The Great was gay himself. It wasn't the fighting or the war that got to him, what led to his death was when his male lover died. He started to decline in health and everything else fell apart. It's also been written in some of the history books that even the Samurai have a belief in that as well. A nice example is when you watch that one episode of Samurai Champloo where a Dutch man was talking about this topic while he himself was gay and wanted to see a Kabuki show. At the time, they didn't allow women to be in plays in Japan and Greece for a long time if ever. (Watch Gladiator or look at Alto-Hime) On the other side, we can go on with examples from the amazon culture, the island of Lesbos, and Sappho's poems. These are just small examples of things that has been around forever. Back on topic: If anything, this series has shoujo-ai elements with a drop of yuri for those who like it or see it that way. The main fan base approves. I just happen to be one of them.

GenjiChan, like it or not, many of us do see potential yuri couples in Love Live! And that will come out in some fanworks. You're free to interpret these characters as you like, but you're not free to force that interpretation on the entire Love Live! fandom.

I tend to be a little too honest for my own good, but that's how I roll. I can't seem to turn it off. lol Didn't mean to accidentally tear people down, it wasn't my intention. This isn't something that needs to be here so I removed it. Back on topic: I can't wait to hear the final results for the 6th PV.

Got vol.2 of the BD and would like to comment on a couple of things 1) I'm not sure if it's me, but it seems like the subs (which are based on the CR subs) have been tidied up a lot more. 2) The extras alone should have make this vol cost a lot more.
They included the first hour of the 2013 New Years Live concert in this volume which to be honest is something unheard of. I mean I've seen shows BDs/DVDs where they include clips from concerts/events, but this extra alone goes beyond what I paid for my BD. I'll just chalk this to me buying the concert but getting the anime episodes as extras.
